Transcript 11/5/08 - Corinne Torres (carryover)

#1 Post by BBTranscriptTeam » Wed Nov 05, 2008 5:57 pm

Corinne Torres
Levittown, NY
Domestic Diva

It took Corinne 8 times before hitting the hot seat. It appears from the interview with Meredith that she didn't pass the test the first 7 times, but it's tough to say.

Corinne has $8,000 and no lifelines left. Her category tree:

Chicken
Rock & Roll
Gimme Your Digits
In Treatment
Credit Check
Greeked Out
Law & Order
(Who Am I?)
(Foreign Tongues)
(Airports)
(Big Personalities)
(Turn the Tables
(Snack Time)
(Check Aisle Two)
(Drinking Games)

$16,000 (Law & Order): In 2002, "Law & Order" became the longest continuously running police drama in TV history, surpassing what classic show?
A. Adam-12 B. Hill Street Blues
C. Hawaii Five-O D. Mannix

Corinne chooses incorrectly with 3 seconds left, and leaves with $1,000.
Spoiler
C. Hawaii Five-O (3) (she answered B)

That was my conclusion, too. And needing all 4 lifelines to get to $8,000 certainly supports that hypothesis.

I do give her credit, though, for taking a shot at the $16,000 question.

As I recall, "Hill Street Blues" and "Mannix" did not have very long runs--probably six years for each. I know that "Hawaii Five-O" premiered in the late '60s and went off the air around the year that I was born (1980). Pretty easy choice for me--C, final answer.

I got the impression that she passed the first test (at least). Nevertheless, it's refreshing to find a contestant who actually wanted to be on the show and made multiple attempts.

I guessed this one, but had I been in the Hot Seat I'd have gone with Double Dip and made C and D my choices.
