I'm almost certain this was a PTBAM question. I know I've seen it before, possibly asked the other way around.

David falls to $1,000.

Poor guy....he was doing so well. What's funny is that in a recent Vortex Jeopardy! game I wrote, this is only worth $600. Of course, I TOMmed it with "French-Canadian city"....

It was done via public voting. IIRC, it was an Internet poll.

What a complete crock. Montreal is probably the cheapest city which can still sort of claim to be a major world city. Although with no MLB, no F1, lower status on the Eurotrash money party circuit, relative decline in restaurant quality....

This is a retread of a past higher-level question, probably from Season 1 or 2 of SynBAM.

He did bear a fairly strong resemblance to Scorsese. His hook was random encounters with celebrities? So we're back to that.

I'm glad I didn't have transcript duty - BAM was interrupted twice for breaking weather news. I didn't get the $2K and $4K questions, and later missed part of the next contestant's stack.

Absolutely no idea, and I doubt the audience would, either, so it's time to consult a Google PAF.

Again, credit to David for going for it.

You're still better off than us, Ear. BAM is being preempted yesterday and today for US Open coverage.

There's some discussion about this (along with tangential discussions) in this thread:

viewtopic.php?f=1&t=18410

Basically, it was some kind of internet voting.

And I think that made this question a crock at $25K. It might have gathered some passing publicity last year, deep in the interior of some newspapers, but the choice of Montreal goes against all logic, particularly with Tokyo there as a distractor. And aren't there lots of national/regional variants of the Monopoly game? What would make this "World Edition" more memorable than all the rest?

This was a WWOQ of the first order!

I think Super Millionaire, or possibly Prime Time Millionaire. I'm pretty sure it wasn't SyndieBAM. --Bob
