PT-WWTBAM Transcript 08/11/09 Celebrity - Sherri Shepherd

#1 Post by BBTranscriptTeam » Wed Aug 12, 2009 12:57 am

Sherri Shepherd
Cohost of The View

Everything is great. Elisabeth is about to have her third baby. Sherri has a new comedy show coming out on Lifetime called Sherri, on October 5th, as well as a new book. "Mama's got a baby to support!"

Sherri's charity is March of Dimes. Their mission is to ensure the health of babies by preventing infant mortalities. March of Dimes helped save Sherri's baby, who was born at 5 1/2 months.

$50,000 - In the movie "Notting Hill," William Thacker visits movie star Anna Scott at a press junket and claims to be a reporter from what magazine?
A - Cat Fancy
B - Horse & Hound
C - Amateur Gardening
D - Cigar Aficionado

Regis: "Did you see the movie Notting Hill?"
Sherri: "I don't even know what Notting Hill is!"

Sherri rules out asking Wolf, since he's into politics and probably doesn't have time for the movies. She also rules out her friend Erline who just came from a nightclub, so she'll probably not be of help. She doesn't think a Double-Dip will help.

She asks Regis if he can take the place of her Phone-a-Friend Erline, to which Regis says no.

Sherri decides to ATA.
ATA results
A - 13%
B - 72%
C - 9%
D - 6%
Sherri: "I was gonna say Horse & Hound!"
Spoiler
B - Horse & Hound
Sherri wins $50,000 for March of Dimes.

Sherrie: "Free drinks for everybody!"

Shit- I even knew this!

Maybe I should have watched last night. Barring any glitches, I may even have won ETV.

I never saw this movie, but ATA indeed seemed to be the best choice of lifeline here. I'm surprised that over 70% knew this answer. Seemed like an obscure fact.

Notting Hill was a fairly popular movie.

I believe the full quote was "If I had a few more minutes, I was gonna say Horse & Hound!"

45 seconds, Sherry.

That's what real contestants get for a $50K question.

Maybe so, but it wasn't exactly a blockbuster. I doubt anywhere near 70% of the audience had seen it. I think people just guessed "Horse & Hound" because people who hadn't seen the movie would at least have heard that it took place in London, and "Horse & Hound" sounds like a British magazine. (I would have followed the same reasoning if I'd had to guess on this WGAS-y question).

Well, thanks for letting me know what her question was. I left the living room when they brought her out.

She was an idiotic me-whore, but she was able to reason out the best lifeline to use. I'd have to check, but I'm pretty sure she took longer than 45 seconds to do that...

I've seen part of Notting Hill once and I could have sworn it was Cat Fancy.

It's now official, Jeemie and Sherri Shepherd are smarter than me.
Sharing smokes and a cup of joe with my friend, Insouciant Ruffian. Good times!

I've seen the entire movie and didn't know it but I would have guessed H&H. So, I'm not smarter than you, just luckier.

I've seen the entire movie, but I couldn't remember whether it was Horse & Hounds or Cigar Aficionado. I think the latter magazine's representative may have been in the room when William Thacker arrives there. --Bob
