No way! I want to show off the stuff I pillaged in Cleveland. Would you believe I got all 3 for the low price of just $10? What a steal!

Pillaged? $10? I do not think that word means what you think it means...

LOL! That is Onion, one of the hot dogs in the race at Progressive Field, and the winner at the second game I went to. They gave those away for free just for filling out a survey (Actually, you had to roll a pair of dice to determine your prize, 2-6 was a Grady Sizemore bobblehead, 7-12 the Onion plush. I guess you could say I lost).....

The other two are a Slider Bobblebelly doll and a Fausto Carmona bobble buddy, both of which were left over from old promotions during the year, and were being clearanced out for $5 a pop.... to think $10 would barely get you a pencil at Busch Stadium.....

I'm impressed that you took my advice and got those baseballs out of that tub.

I dunno - that doll doesn't look anything like that "onion", if you ask me.

More than one doll makes a collection...sorry.

OK, lb, here's your chance to pooh-pooh another story. It's about the "ballhawks" who hang out outside of Wrigley Field to catch home runs. One guy says he has been doing it for 52 years, has caught over 5400 balls, including 240 game home runs, 5 grand slams and his record is 4 homers in one day. You'd love these guys, they keep statistics and records...

Sorry, but as much as I love watching BP, I would get bored pretty fast standing in a place where you couldn't even see the ball until it was on it's way down towards you. It might be interesting to try one day, but the only time I ever went to Wrigley, it was drizzling and the wind chill was 30, so no BP....

But hooray for keeping statistics! If you're gonna be that dedicated to ballhawking, you may as well keep stats. I have been stuck on 78 for 3 months now after another close call tonight....

One of the others is my very first ball, which was literally rolling down the aisle as I was perusing my scorecard and kinda landed at my feet. Turns out Brian Jordan tossed a ball between BP and the game to some people down the row from me and they whiffed on it. The other is the one I got while patiently waiting for the ushers to open up my favorite section to sit in, which they absolutely wound NOT do until precisely one hour before the start of the game. As we were waiting outside the section, someone hit one into the tunnel... it caromed off one of the yellow bicycle barriers and came right to me. Since I wasn't really trying for chasing either one, they don't really fall into the non-catch category.....

I do not and will never bring a bag of any kind! They check that stuff before they let you in the stadium, but they rarely look inside a glove, so I can grease right on in through the gate. They used to have a line set up at each gate for people with nothing to check so they could bypass the one (and only one) usher at each gate who was assigned to rummage through bags, but they got rid of that since most people are unable to read (the same kind of folks who don't know George Harrison is dead).....

So non-catch only refers to those that you were actively trying to catch?

And, yes, those people can read. Just like the people with 854048033 items in their cart can read the words "Express Lane". They choose to ignore them because they know that the cashier/gate attendant/whoever will let them get away with it.

If grocery stores, stadiums, etc. would add a statement to the sign saying that people who have a bag/are over the item limit/whatever would be sent to the back of the correct line (and actually enforced it), the increase in reading comprehension would be amazing......

Or if someone would just knock a little sense into them.....

I classified the two as other kinda for the reason I stated in the article Esto linked to (BTW, Esto, I did view the clip!)... Either BP wasn't going on so I wasn't paying attention, or I was obscured from viewing it and just happened to have one come out of nowhere....

BTW, not included on the list are a handful I gave away after I had already gotten one that day.... including one I gave to one of the sisters after I caught the Dante HR at Coors.....

Okay, you actually made me go and read the thread and you say that it's your ultimate dream to catch a HR ball. But here you're saying you've caught 26 (including one from Bichette Happens).

So are those home runs that were hit during BP rather than the actual game?

Yes, I included a breakdown of BP/game balls, and a brief explanation of the 2 game balls I have. The HR's were all caught in BP....
