Nor will you. They do not take to it.

Casey might not be alive today if she had continued in her pursuit. She would at least have been injured.

Of course, they're admiring the scenery!

And if there happens to be a stray sheep or something in need of herding, Casey could spot it from miles away! :)
When you live in God's Country, this isn't called scenery, it's just called 'outside'.

I thought ES did all his reading in the can, and that looks like the classic crapper pose. I'd hate to see the other side of that rock.

Annie got bit hard yesterday, by a log due to our carelessness when we were getting wood.

It will be a long time before we go on another hike like that. I may be calling SC to find out the best way to handle a gimpy dog.

Thanks, LB and Marley!

Annie is much improved today. The doc can't tell yet if surgery will be necessary; she's scheduled for a CT scan in the morning.

Great avatar, LB. "Definitely Top 5."

Also, just looking at those pictures makes me happy. It's so serenely beautiful and not 300 degrees; it looks like a fairytale.

No surgery! Whew!

Recovery will take a long time, but I have lots of patience.

Whenever I need inspiration, I will just think about rolling ES over that cliff . . .

Hurray!!! I have to hold my breath for a bit whenever a dog named Annie has a hurt leg, but I am relieved. Providing the patience is the easy part. Please give her get-well scritches for me, and give some to Casey, too.

Thanks! I will!

Casey does not need any scritches, the little brat. She consoled herself with two big slices of German Chocolate Cake Sunday night, cake which should have gone to SteelersFan and me!

Just kidding. She's missing her "little" sis while she's in the doggie hospital. Hope to have her home Wednesday or Thursday.

I've PMed you a couple questions, if you don't mind answering.

Annie continues to improve in small increments, probably too small for us to take the same hike featured above this fall. I am confident we'll be hiking all over the hills next spring.

It occurred to me to post a quick update when I saw this Frazz comic strip:

http://www.gocomics.com/frazz/2011/10/05

All y'all brainiacs probably knew already what proprioception is, but I didn't learn it until the physical therapy doc explained to me that Annie had very little remaining in her back legs. She improves by getting back a little more each day.

And with the comic, just like here so many times, the comments start to decline into a political name calling.

?? I don't remember any political name-calling in Frazz, Christie. Can you point me to it?

Not the comic itself. The comments underneath it on the Web page containing the comic. --Bob
