Beds Peeps
I want input from any and all. I WILL get a new bed. Ours is conspiring to kill us out of decrepitude and probably mean-spiritedness. I have to have a new bed so that my sciatic nerves, spinal cord, internal organs and feet don't fall off my body or out of it.
So, what do you recommend? I want a king size heavenly bed that will enclose me in its arms with love and support. I do not want to spend $3,000. I would be willing to go $1,000-1,200, but, obviously I would prefer cheaper.
Thank you for your participation. I'll keep a light on in the window for you.

It's pretty good. I got one like this first for Annie, who really needed as much comfort and space as possible. I've slept on it. Slept well, too.Beebs52 wrote:silvercamaro wrote:I checked with the experts in my house. Both BeBe and Lizbit like this one best:

Re: Beds Peeps
I love the mattress I got when I got my house about 2 1/2 years ago. It's the same material as the Tempur-Pedic but locally made. Mine cost $800 vs $2000+ for the Tempur-Pedic. I passed on the motorized frame that adjusts like a hospital bed.Beebs52 wrote:I want input from any and all. I WILL get a new bed. I'd have to check tonight but you'll probably find other similar brands closer to you.Beebs52 wrote:What is the brand name and is it available at a local type store?Bob Juch wrote:I love the mattress I got when I got my house about 2 1/2 years ago. Did you fail to notice who posted the original question?
I have one of those memory foam thingies - where you can bounce on one side and not spill a glass of wine sitting on the other side. I like it a lot - sleeping well. My son bought if for me, though, so I don't know how much it cost.

Hey Beebs- after too many years of waking up miserable, and before spending a fortune on a new mattress myself, I decided to just "try out" one of those Memory Foam Mattress Toppers first... and well hell, it's heaven. I picked up a king size "Fieldcrest Supreme 3" Layered Spring Foam Technology" baby on sale at Target for about $160, and I'd think seriously about hurting the fool who'd even joke about taking it away from me now... Hubby said it felt like being inside a coffin at first, but he finally admits it's amazing.

My highest bedding ambition is a down featherbed. I've wanted one since the first time I slept on such cloudlike perfection in a lovely Bavarian inn on the banks of Lake Konstanz long, long ago.
Maybe I can start thinking again about getting one since my list of other wants and needs has gotten shorter since then.

See, that's something we need to consider. Get a less expensive set of springs and all and try that, maybe?secondchance wrote:As usual, you guys crack the heck outta me...Beebs52 wrote:Vague Mini wrote:I'd probably enjoy a stone bed, so I'm no help to normal people...
