Luck Runs Out of Luck

#1 Post by silverscreenselect » Wed Mar 14, 2012 11:38 pm

HBO has cancelled its new series Luck as of the end of its first season in two more episodes. Luck stars Dustin Hoffman and Nick Nolte and one of the best inside looks at horse racing in particular and gambling in general. Unfortunately, the show, which featured actual horse race footage, was plagued by accidents that have caused the deaths of three horses, including one this week. After protests by PETA and the American Humane Society, HBO decided to pull the plug.

I liked the show, but three horses dying under suspicious circumstances is very unusual in this day and age.

I thought this would have something to do with Andrew Luck and the Colts. Looks like that broken-down nag Manning got out of town before the glue factory got him, too...
Do you have any "Zs?"

No, but I put it in the other thread before I knew the origin and said it was "nice." Ugh!

Now that I know the origin, I think it is too awful. It will not win.
