WWOQ Material

#1 Post by MarleysGh0st » Fri Aug 24, 2012 8:42 pm

With hanzz about to appear on SyndieBAM, I thought this news article might be fodder for a WWOQ. (I read about it on THIS is TRUE but I went to the original source for the link, since Randy doesn't want us to repost his newsletter material.)

First, read this description of an artwork and see if any component of it jumps out as being a bit "odd".
Robert Rauschenberg - 'Canyon', 1959, oil, housepaint, pencil, paper, fabric, metal, buttons, nails, cardboard, printed paper, photographs, wood, paint tubes, mirror string, pillow & bald eagle on canvas
Spoiler
Yes, Rauschenberg used a real bald eagle in his artwork.

And now, some heirs who inherited this artwork are in a dispute with the IRS over its value. The IRS says it's worth $65 million. The heirs (and their appraisers) say it's worth nothing, because the law prohibits them from ever selling it!

Just the stuff for the the question writers to use. Look for it!

BTW, I don't really "get" modern art, so maybe somebody could explain to me what the pillow represents?

Yeah, my six-year-old could do better.

That is a dreadful avatar. It will not win.
