I believe one of the current matches is still incorrect, per sss. Perhaps the Eli Whitney/John C. Calhoun match, which seemed like it might be tenuous? Which could bring Keynes back into play.

Doing a little fooling around, I found that if you put Keynes back into play, you can match him up with Brad Dexter to get economist Harry Dexter White. White's Wiki page even has a photo of him with Keynes...

Your matches are correct. I didn't really have any great matches for Whitney since I couldn't find anyone famous with whom he was closely associated, and the school and military ties as well as their association with the South of that era made this as good a match as any.

26. JOE PERRY may match up with someone to get to Brad Whitford (lead guitarist for Aerosmith)

17. EUGENE DEBS
72. She is the most recent female astronaut. + 99. PEGGY NOONAN = PEGGY WHITSON

So either Eugene X goes with Longstreet or Cook
OR
X Debs goes with Longstreet or Cook
OR
X Longestreet or X Cook goes with Eugene Debs
OR
another James X goes with Eugene Debs

Once we figure that out, we're done except for naming the right astronaut.

Debs and James Whitcomb Riley were both from Indiana. I wonder if there's any other connection.

Apparently, there was, as I found when i googled the two names together:
The Eugene V. Debs Home is located on the campus of Indiana State University, and it was given the State and National Historic Landmark status in 1966. Before it was rescued, this house was home to a professor, converted into apartments and then used as a fraternity house at this Indiana college. Eugene V. Debs built the home and lived there with his wife Kate, whom he married in 1885. The couple often had visitors, including the likes of James Whitcomb Riley and Abraham Lincoln biographer Carl Sandburg. A second floor bedroom of the Eugene V. Debs Home is even named the James Whitcomb Riley Room, because he frequently stayed overnight with the Debs couple.
I bet Mr. Kelley would have gotten this.

So, in an unusual situation, we've finished all the matches without identifying all the people. We're done otherwise.

Okay, the latest woman in space was Sunita Williams, who broke Peggy Whitson's record for total cumulative spacewalk time for a female astronaut. That should do it.

Ah, yes. After a five-year absence, Williams did indeed go back into space one month after Liu's historic flight. Good catch.

Now... I started writing up a new movie puzzle three years ago. I never got a chance to finish it because of my heart attack and because I quit the Bored. I intended to delete this game from my computer because I thought that I would never return to the Bored. But while going through my hard drive a couple of weeks ago, I discovered that--whoops!--I forgot to delete it. So now I'm debating whether or not I want to finish the work and post it.

Except that while the cotton gin was of great benefit to the South, Eli Whitney lived and worked in New Haven.

Didn't we have a Bored question on him sometime? I read all about him within the last ten years for some reason.

I might have, once it was narrowed down this far, but having never been to the Debs house, I would've been limited to the knowledge you had; namely, that they both came from here and were roughly contemporary. Nice job, everyone. Fireball, you might want to see if you can remove Estonut from ignore, or else make it known that he and any others you have there won't be included in games and consolidations you're running.

I don't really have a need to acknowledge somebody as arrogant, ignorant, dishonest, and disrespectful as Estonut. Nobody should really be surprised that I've had him and others who have attitudes like his (such as SportsFan68 and Fanny) on my block list ever since I officially left the Bored. They're the reason I almost died. But all of that is irrelevant here because he never participated in any of my previous puzzles, and I would be surprised if he participated in any of my future ones.

People do change, and certainly if Estonut atoned for his sins, I would happily remove him from my block list so that he could participate. But I would eat a hat and post a video of it on YouTube if he ever actually genuinely did that.

Even if I do put out this new puzzle, it won't be until June at the earliest. The next few weeks will be a bit hectic for me. I'm leaving for Cleveland in a couple of days. When I get back home, I'll be out looking for a bigger house. After my kids and I get moved and settled in, I'll have my birthday and a Memorial Day picnic to plan out. So if anybody out there has a puzzle ready between now and June, feel free to go ahead of me.

Then do not take it upon yourself to consolidate for the rest of us. It doesn't help us.

If you knew what I was thinking when I saw the words "atoned for his sins," you would certainly put me on your block list.

This wasn't your puzzle, and even if it was, you still don't get to decide who can participate. Everybody gets to participate - even the businessmen who rob and cheat and steal from people every day. I do think Estonut could have easily just corrected the consolidation though, for everybody's benefit.

Sorry, Jerr, it wouldn't have been just as easy for Estonut. He noticed that his contribution was missing, but what about the rest of us? I'm with Frank: "Then do not take it upon yourself to consolidate for the rest of us. It doesn't help us."

Just to clarify, I didn't participate in this one, but I was very pleased that my Annie Sullivan quote identification helped in the last movie puzzle, and I would have been horrified if someone had to duplicate my effort.

Why not? He copies and pastes the existing consolidation, and types in his answers where they belong. Takes about two minutes. As someone who does the consolidating fairly often, I would much rather see someone paste in missed answers rather than complain that they were missed. And I understand his complaint was justified in this case, but it still would have been more helpful to the other puzzlers to just correct the omissions and move on.

It was, up until you said Estonut could have easily fixed it and it "would have been more helpful to the other puzzlers to just correct the omissions and move on." Estonut could not correct all the omissions without going through and doing another consolidation.
