I am now working as a security guard assigned to an office building, and my current hours are 11pm to 7am Monday thru Thursday nights. I actually kind of like being there then instead of during the day because it is quiet and there is nothing going on. I like the idea of going home to sleep while most people are going to work. And I have pretty much given up on finding a "normal" job (see my previous rant about age discrimination, a subject that still royally pisses me off).
During the fall and winter months my uniform includes a jacket and tie that I take off for part of my shift and put back on when it is time for the people who work in the building to start arriving. Ironically, if I had a hat and sunglasses I would actually look like Elwood Blues.

I used to work that sort of hours over 40 years ago. Now I'm working from 4 PM to 12:30 AM which is nice because I never have bad traffic (except today for the first time). They have a hard time getting people to work here on the grave shift. The people who do are all "different".
