Amazing Stunt

#1 Post by silverscreenselect » Fri Nov 15, 2013 12:21 pm

If anyone hasn't seen this, it's really amazing. Jean Claude Van Damme's acting career may not be going well, but he's certainly got a future as a yoga instructor:

That's why they were going in reverse.

Pretty impressive even if it was carefully designed to prevent injury as much as possible.

From the 'how they made it' article:

video director Andreas Nilsson said, “but we had him rigged so that if he would fall off he wouldn’t die obviously.

Does that mean that if he was killed during filming that it would be OK if it wasn't....um......obvious?

Seriously though, even with their super-duper steering system driving a truck backwards at almost any speed for almost any distance and keeping in a perfectly straight line is a difficult thing. Doing the same thing alongside another truck that is exactly duplicating your actions is some epic driving skills.

This misplacement reminds me of a commercial I see very often late at night.
Hi, I'm Joan Lunden, and if you're worried about your parent or loved one living alone like I was and you want reliable senior care information, then call A Place for Mom...

FYI for anyone considering A Place for Mom, if you call they want all sorts of personal info before they will "help". And by help I mean referring you to places and then charging rates around 25% more than if you called the place yourself. The info gathering takes around 15-20 minutes and they are no better than going online and finding the same places yourself.

Ask the best hospital in town for referrals.

The commercial I don't like is that Kit Kat bar commercial with the sound effects.

Ugh - that cold remedy commercial (Zicam?) with the snot monster chasing the woman. Disgusting.
