Is it completely random at this point of who they select from the contestant pool,or is there something to be read into someone getting selected for the first week of shows?

We are not privy to what goes on behind the scenes at a casting meeting, but I think we can safely assume it is definitely not random. Someone is making the decision, for reasons only they know.

Hello all! Long time lurker, first time poster.

I tried out at the Dallas auditions on July 8, passed the test, and then went on to receive a videotaped interview. However, I still have not heard back from WWTBAM one way or another. And now it appears that Las Vegas folks are getting their happy cards. Does anyone have any recommendations on recourse on my part? Thanks!

You have no recourse but to wait.

I went to Foxwoods and passed the written test and have an interview scheduled for tomorrow, August 1st. I hope to get one of those happy cards!

This coming Thursday will be 4 weeks since my audition, and I still haven't received my postcard or anything from WWTBAM. People who auditioned right next to me got their card over a weeks ago. I felt very confident about my audition and that I made a great impression on them. Should I take it as a bad sign that I have not received anything yet? Is there a chance that I won't get anything from them? Has anyone ever heard of the postcard being lost in the mail or taken by someone else? Just feeling a little bummed that I haven't heard anything yet.

I auditioned in Philadelphia in October and never got a card or e-mail. Usually, that's a bad sign. But you never know; maybe the Post Office lost your card, and you'll get a surprise Call.

That sucks. a few times I have had neighbors bring me mail that was accidentally delivered to their home. The Millionaire happy card might be something they would want to keep since it's a pretty cool thing to get.

Yeah, I check every day. I have received other emails from Millionaire telling me about the new host or when the new season will air but nothing about my audition.

I did get the video interview. I think it went well but it was hard to not obsess on everything that might have been better when I was done! Kwame said it would 2 to 3 weeks before I would hear one way or the other. So just excited and waiting at the moment.

Since I have not received an email or a postcard yet would I have any luck contacting the show to see what's up? Like maybe on their Facebook page? I know they posted stuff about the road auditions and pictures of the casting producers on their Facebook page so maybe one of them would see it and be able to get back to me. I know their are still 2 days until the 4 weeks is up so I would probably wait until then to do it but I would be so annoyed to have traveled all the way to Vegas just to audition to never hear anything. It's a little frustrating to say the least.

Temple, last year I auditioned in Houston and never received anything - no email, no postcard. I'm sure this isn't what you want to hear, but I think some of us fall through the cracks sometime.....or into file 13. You could still get a call, though - don't give up hope.

Thanks, I actually called the ticket hotline today and the guy said if I haven't received and email then it's good news so far and that they might be just deliberating still, but he said he just works in the ticket department so he couldn't tell me for sure. He did however give me the number to the audition helpline which I will call tomorrow. Maybe I can find out then.

I have an update and it is AWESOME news! I called the audition hotline today and left a voicemail. I wasn't sure if I would get a call back, but I did within just a couple hours. The girl said that my post card must have been lost in the mail because I AM in the contestant pool! The girl who called was actually the same girl who did my first interview and she actually remembered me. So now I just have to wait for the call to be on the show! I asked her if she could send me a new post card and she said she would try. I want to as a souvenir.
