At around 5:10, Ami says (mistakenly) "Sweden had its first terrorist Islamic attack not that long ago." Either Trump heard that and repeated it, or he didn't.

Never in his statements at the 'rally' did Trump say there was a terrorist attack in Sweden.

Here's the bottom line. We've got to keep our country safe. You look at what's happening. We've got to keep our country safe. You look at what's happening in Germany, you look at what's happening last night in Sweden. Sweden, who would believe this. Sweden. They took in large numbers. They're having problems like they never thought possible. You look at what's happening in Brussels. You look at what's happening all over the world. Take a look at Nice. Take a look at Paris. We've allowed thousands and thousands of people into our country and there was no way to vet those people. There was no documentation. There was no nothing. So we're going to keep our country safe.

When he mentions Brussels, Nice and Paris a few seconds after Sweden, it sounds like he's listing places where there are Muslim terrorists. So he either repeated what he heard on Fox News, or by coincidence he said something very similar. He didn't make anything up himself, and neither did the MSM.

Yes, in the real world, the non-Trump, non-Breitbart world that the majority of people live in, words mean what they logically mean when you hear or read them, not whatever strained meaning that you and your advisers can come up with a couple of days later when someone else points out how stupid what you said actually was. So, when someone says "when you look at what's happening last night in Sweden," he means that something happened the previous night in Sweden, not that he saw a news feature the night before that discussed events in Sweden at some previous time.

Or to make it simpler in Flock terms. According to Trump, "real news" is whatever I say, which varies from time to time in accordance with my explanation of the day. Fake news is anything that contradicts me.

So, when Trump referred to "you look at what's happening last night in Sweden," that's not a lie because there was no incident in Sweden the previous night. Similarly, his statements about his wining the greatest electoral vote landslide since Reagan aren't lies because they're not true. That's quite logical.

Anti-Semitism and support for the State of Israel aren't mutually exclusive. Some of the support for Israel among some religious right-wingers comes from their reading of the Book of Revelation and they view Israel as part of the prophecy contained in that book.

Since no event occurred, it is obvious to anyone with a fair, unbiased mind that he is referring to the problems Sweden is experiencing with assimilating so many refugees documented in the news report he watched on the night specified.

Pronouncements that the President of the United States makes about an apparent terrorist attack in Sweden is not "stupid, petty stuff." I would assume that the President has access to better information about world events than you or I or Fox News or the so-called Soros news do. So, when he talks about things like this, people listen... here and in Sweden.

As Bob says, since Trump apparently doesn't like reading his intelligence briefings, it raises the possibility of him ordering a military attack based on his recollection of Fox News stories.

Just two days after President Trump provoked widespread consternation by seeming to imply, incorrectly, that immigrants had perpetrated a recent spate of violence in Sweden, riots broke out in a predominantly immigrant neighborhood in the northern suburbs of the country's capital, Stockholm.

The neighborhood, Rinkeby, was the scene of riots in 2010 and 2013, too. And in most ways, what happened Monday night was reminiscent of those earlier bouts of anger. Swedish police apparently made an arrest about 8 p.m. near the Rinkeby station. For reasons not yet disclosed by the police, word of the arrest prompted youths to gather.

Over four hours, the crowd burned about half a dozen cars, vandalized several shopfronts and threw rocks at police. Police spokesman Lars Bystrom confirmed to Sweden's Dagens Nyheter newspaper that an officer fired shots at a rioter but missed. A photographer for the newspaper was attacked by more than a dozen men and his camera was stolen, but ultimately no one was hurt or even arrested.

There's two problems with your argument, Spock. First, as I've mentioned, the concern that many right wingers claim they have for "Jews, Gays, Women and basic Western Civilization" seems to begin and end when the perpetrators of various offenses are Muslims, specifically Muslim refugees from "those" countries.

Second, the events that are mentioned, which may or may not have actually occurred, are anecdotal and invariably fly in the face of official government statistics, the statistics compiled by police services whose job it is to control crime of all sorts.

You can quote anecdotes all day. No one is naïve enough to believe that anti-Semitism doesn't exist, in Europe and elsewhere, and that European Jews are understandably leery of anything that might resemble a threat. But how much of that anti-Semitism is due to refugees from Islamic countries and how much due to home-brewed neo-Nazis and similar groups is a different question. What I'd like to see is some actual statistics, rather than cherry picking incidents in a vacuum for the proposition that unchecked immigration threatens to do what generations of skinheads and right-wing hate groups haven't.
