Hannah Montana?! Oh brother. Possible ATA usage there. WWII is almost always a problem area for me.

Not mentioned in the recap is the fact that Meredith mispronounced "gyro".

Nihil obstat® for me so far.

I didn't notice her pronunciation, but I'm guessing she tried to pronounce it like the Greek gyros sandwich, instead of like "gyroscope".

No, she pronounced it like "gyroscope". Given the context of the question, it should've been pronounced "yee-ro".

So she doesn't know Greek food! :P

And TPTB didn't warn her with a pronunciation hint on her monitor.

In any event, the damned clock makes everything so rushed, particularly in the first tier, that it's absurd still trying to get a laugh with a $100 joke answer.

You may not be allowed to interrupt Meredith, but I'd at least try to override the audience and cut off the laughter. I'll want every possible second for my $1MM question.

I have forgotten, though. Are all the top tier questions 45 seconds, or is the base for the $1MM question a full minute?
I just ordered chicken and an egg from Amazon. I'll let you know.

The laughter is already rushed, now that they've added the damned clock. Which is why I ask, why bother with the joke answer at all?

If a contestant gets to the $1 million question, they get all the leftover time they've banked on the previous questions. I'm not sure what the baseline is that they add that to--45 seconds or 1 minute.

Of course, if Skip the Intern ever got around to posting the updated rules on the SyndieBAM web site, we'd know.

I'm substituting for Skip today. It's 45 seconds plus the banked time. Do I get a gyro?

Only if you post the updated rules on the web site! :P
