I see possible lifeline usage on Teenybopper TV, Royal Family, Tangled Web (which sounds like it refers to the WWW), and Civil War.

$4K: Suprisingly, I blanked out on this one. ATA. For some reason, tomatoes would not click.

$16K: It's either Jonas Brothers or Naked Brothers. Double Dip.

When I asked #1 Son if he knew the answer, he did, and said, "Mom, I guess we need to have you listen to more rap music."

Yeah, that's gonna happen . . . !

I don't know about rap nusic. I've heard it before in conversations. It refers to 20" wheels.

Never heard of it but guessed the right answer only because I thought there could be vehicles with double wheels.

Like big trucks.

I didn't realize that this was a special week. Don't they usually reserve those for sweeps?? Not that I object - I always root for teachers, and it explains why Nancy was chosen to be the expert this particular week.

Only in the comic book, which makes this question tougher than one might think. The TV and movie versions have a different origin story.

This question definitely qualifies as a WWOQ - there's nothing particular in the question that makes one answer more likely than the others (although my first thought was "dashboard" because of the "d" and "b"). It's a shame that Nancy was given this one to answer because it's definitely something that only a specialist in the field would know right away. And Googling doesn't help, either. It's a shame that Ken had to leave with only $16K.

The $100 question is in my cellphone WWTBAM game.

No problemo to the "dub" question, which the ATA should get with not much problem. Never heard the term at all. Tough break for the teacher. I'm rooting for all of them, and he was doing pretty well to that point. I wonder if he would have heard of it if he'd been teaching at middle or high school level.

But Kardashian wasn't one of the answers, Googling dub magazine image gets you this

Suitguy is not bitter.

feels he represents the many educated and rational onlookers who believe that the hysterical denouncement of lay scepticism is both unwarranted and counter-productive

The problem, then, is that such calls do not address an opposition audience so much as they signal virtue. They talk past those who need convincing. They ignore actual facts and counterargument. And they are irreparably smug.

But do they count at doubles? We were discussing last night whether she had been in Playboy magazine. I didn't try to confirm that, however, my husband seemed quite sure of it.

I also had never heard of the magazine. My thinking was "Dub" sounds like "Dubya" which equals "W." The only answer beginning with "W" was "wheels" and it turned out to be correct. On the J! board I bumped up the thread from Ken's appearance on the show a few years back.

If you google "dub slang car" there are a few hits on the first page that would be helpful.

This was my thought process exactly. I got to the right answer using the wrong rationale. I would have absolutely zero confidence in answering that way, though.
