Nicole Jurado
Lansing, MI
Secretary, college student and mother of two

Nicole's audition was four days before her wedding. She flew all night, took the test, and made it back in time for the wedding.

Nicole's husband, Andrew is in the audience. Nicole is hoping to buy a house with the money she wins. She's promised her son a dog--her son has already picked out the name "Shadow"--so they need a bigger house with room for one.

We're shown a picture of five-year-old Bobby and nine-month-old Isaac.

With 31 seconds left, Nicole decides to Double Dip.

ATA on Danity Kane. Not confident enough to go for my gut instinct, but this is a perfect ATA-type question.

No idea how I knew the Nixon one. Must have read it somewhere and it stuck in the back of my mind.

Too bad she couldn't get further in the stack. I don't think that'll be enough for the house.
I just ordered chicken and an egg from Amazon. I'll let you know.

I read about that in a novel by Homer Hickam, The Ambassador's Son. The novel has Nixon meeting JFK (and James Michener) in the South Pacific during WWII, where Nixon is a supply officer. JFK finds himself temporarily short of a PT boat and plays against Nixon in a high-stakes poker game for one. 8)

I'm really happy for Nicole. She immediately endeared herself to me in the green room by telling me I looked like one of my all-time favorite America's Next Top Model contestants. She may have been a liar, but she was a sweet liar and I'm glad she did well!

For the second time this week, the BAM writers have stolen my material. The very first subject of the very first game of "Double Dare" that I hosted (same game and same forum on which I used the Cadillac clue before it showed up in Madame's stack) was "Richard Nixon" and one of the clues was "He won enough money at poker to finance his first political campaign".

Charlie Wilcox, Punta Gorda, FL... a contestant in December 2004. He left with $1,000 after incorrectly answering how much a "fifth" of liquor is.

At least she was an eager contestant, unlike some.

Lifeline time - although I guessed the right answer from the comfort of my recliner. ATA, figuring this is something they'd know.

Not so much a "bodies of water" question as a geography question. If you know where Mozambique is, the answer follows.

Uh, oh. When they showed Brian I commented to elwing that this meant Nicole was going to miss the next question.

I'd be using lifeilnes here, too, starting with PAF, hoping this would be a fairly simple Google. I don't think this particular expert would know this (although she's introduced as a journalist). If the PAF doesn't come through it's time to walk because I have no good way to choose the DD answers.

Ouch. Three lifelines not helping Nicole answer correctly was tough. I was pulling for her thoughout her game, but the "freebie" for $50K was tricky. It shows how unpredictable the game is, too.
