Presidential Challenge Log Thingy

#1 Post by Bixby17 » Sat Nov 17, 2007 7:45 am

Hmmm.

We are going to have to kick some ass if we are going to have a decent November at all. At the peak of PCLT, 100,000 points a month was something realistic. Here's our half way totals:

Total points: 25834
10 participants (that's a low number for us too, which makes getting the points harder.)

More participants, more points. :)

Since I started going back to the gym, it's worth logging points again. Maybe I can get us up to 60K for the month, anyway.

OK - thanks for the reminders. Now that I'm doing the trainer thing and the cardio machines every week, I guess I'll start adding in points. Also, the mega-walking we did in NYC last weekend racked me up some big credit.

Suitguy is not bitter.

feels he represents the many educated and rational onlookers who believe that the hysterical denouncement of lay scepticism is both unwarranted and counter-productive

The problem, then, is that such calls do not address an opposition audience so much as they signal virtue. They talk past those who need convincing. They ignore actual facts and counterargument. And they are irreparably smug.

I have a 28% chance - I'm not good with guns or explosives and I'm too fond of my loved ones.

I have a 59% chance of surviving. I attribute it to my large supply of can goods and gun handling ability.

My love for my family lowers my score.

We opted not to get a traditional family portrait for our holiday cards this year and do something different. Everyone made their own avatar independently and we combined them into one card.

The funny thing is that people say that Emma and Jeff look alike and Maddie and I look alike (though Emma's coloring is mine, while Maddie's is Jeff's) and our avatars reflect this.

We wanted to put the cats on the card as well, but there weren't enough Snowballs to cover the range of of cats.

My first run-through, with the closest-to-accurate answers, was 37 percent. I went back through, putting in the answers I thought they wanted, and came up with 97 percent. My question, however, is what good will guns do against zombies? They're already dead. I think I'd rather have a supply of pitchforks and rakes to keep them from reaching me, along with some heavy stones or bowling balls to knock them off balance.

Doing each of your own avatars independently added a nice touch of authenticity! :D
