Blue Boo Hoo

#1 Post by Kazoo65 » Sat Nov 17, 2007 3:05 pm

I just finished watching the Michigan/Ohio State game. Ugh.
There have been a lot of rumors going around this week in the media here in Michigan that Coach Carr is going to retire after the season ends. This is not how I wanted it to end. :(

Oh well, there's always next year-at least they don't have to play Applachian State again. I wonder who came up with THAT brilliant idea.
I'm just a game show nerd.

Think of it this way.

Carr got an early retirement present in 1997.

As of this morning it's official - Carr is stepping down.

Every powerhouse team looks for teams they can play early in the season in order to get some onfield experience. The smaller teams look forward to such games because of the revenue they generate (one game against a powerhouse can almost pay an entire year's football budget). I doubt that anyone expected Appalachian State to beat Michigan. This has been the year of the upset, however.

I'm pretty sure it is. The voice is spot-on, and the e-mail address seems correct. --Bob

For a while, one of my co-workers had "Michigan -- undefeated in Big 10 conference action!" on his office door. Then somebody scrawled underneath it, "Dude -- they lost to APPALACHIAN STATE!" Then the sign disappeared.
