Good reasoning on the "horti" portion of the product's name.

No idea, although I can rule out Jack Black. I'm not sure I'd recognize any of the other three.

This was in the news recently as the lander shut down due to low power. There were several articles that mentioned NASA's hope that it would rise "phoenix-like" when the sun's rays will be stronger.

First ten look good... and that's about it.

$4K: ARGH! I can never remember which of AB or O is the universal donor and which is the universal recipient. I'll have to ATA as well.

$8K: Never heard of this movie. Since Tom Spencer is a rock music genius, I'll ask him as well.

This is a $25,000 question?!

$50K: Perfect PAF question.

Was the correct blood type even listed?

I think it should be O negative. And, now that I've bothered to search, the Mayo Clinic agrees.

It is O- but since none of the types distinguished positive/negative, that's the best answer.

That PAF call had all the markings of a googler;
The long silence,
the request to "repeat the choices",
the confident-sounding answer thrown out in the final seconds...
Spoiler
but obviously not a googler after all, or perhaps not a very good one. Searching on "may 2008 mars" pulls up nothing but "phoenix" references left and right. Of course it doesn't help that she made no attempt to distill the question.

Both of my sons instantly knew Phoenix since we had all watched together the coverage of the landing.
