I'm a little surprised that Tom Spencer was unable to come up with this one once he said he'd seen the movie plenty of times. Forrest was pasted into an interview of John Lennon on the Dick Cavett show. Forrest makes some comments which lead directly to lines in "Imagine". Maybe it's just because I'm a big Lennon and Beatles fan that I find the scene very memorable.

Is this question totally accurate? As far as I know, you don't have to be a lawyer to be on the Supreme Court, so I'm pretty sure there must be places where you don't have to be a lawyer to be elected D.A.

LOL! I find it pretty odd that one of Lance's categories is Body Piercings. If you watched the episode, you noticed Lance's giant earlobe plugs.

If you know the four artists who did those songs (Johnny Cash, John Lennon, Beach Boys, Otis Redding) then determine which of them appeared in the movie, it would certainly help. If you paid attention to the movie, you would know that Forrest met John Lennon on "The Dick Cavett Show".

Oddly enough, it would have helped if Tom had read Daniel's recent Bored sermon against "Imagine". That might have reminded him of the talk show scene.

I understood a "hook" to mean a story or angle that gets one booked for the show. Didn't this proposal happen much later?

Oh, OK. The show doesn't air here for a couple of days, due to this week's pre-emptions. I thought I was misunderstanding either the definition or the story.
