Quite a few NYC police and firefighters lived just as far out on Long Island, around where I lived when there, and make the long drive to the city. I think the city makes them be residents when they are hired, but afterwards they are free to move and some move a pretty long way. One cousin of mine moved a more reasonable distance from Queens to Seaford, then retired from the NYC PD and moved to Colorado.

Andrei is one of my patients. A great guy, he taped this in October and has been waiting for the airdate ever since.

If he had called me, I would have leaned toward "Opera Singer", as I can picture one of those in a robe, for some reason. However, my 14yr old Jordan KNEW the correct answer, as she is a Broadway fanatic (and saw a reference to this while seeing "Legally Blonde". (Now, would I have trusted her answer in the heat of a phone call? That is the question!)


Im sorta bummed she didnt mention who the PAFs 'were'. (Warning, Delusion of Grandeur-alert) If she had said "Chiropractor", I wonder if she would have remembered me (why not, I had a whole 9 minutes on that show).

I'm curious to see if you think if Monticello, NY is WE territory? We do get the NY stations and we are 90 miles from NYC - although very few people commute from there (I always thought of Middletown to be the farthest point in our direction that had a significant number of commuters to NYC). Although I haven't lived there for over 25 years, I was there for a month when I tried out for BAM nearly a year ago.

BTW, Moonie - I see you are from Monroe - did you grow up there? I taught at Monroe-Woodbury H.S. for a year back in 1980-81 and was wondering if on some off chance we might have crossed paths? I also did a stint on their volunteer ambulance service.

Yes to both- but Danbury has a completely different character than New York and its surrounding burbs.
