Re: Transcript 04/27/09 Cristina Stutler
A book about the making of "Aladdin" told the story about Robin Williams coming in to prepare for his role as the Genie. The author said the movie used maybe a third of the Genie's originally scripted lines. The rest was Williams's improvs. The author also said that a large portion of what was recorded would not have been suitable for a Disney animated feature. I'll bet they burned those tapes.clem21 wrote:Right, because Disney's always so clean.

Harlan Ellison, the SF writer, tells a hilarious story about being called into Disney Studios during the '60s to work on a unknown project (which became "The Computer Wore Tennis Shoes"). The short version is that he met a number of his SF cohorts, called in for the same not-then-defined project, and they all proceeded at lunch to discuss directing a porno film starring the Disney characters, complete with voices and appropriate sound effects. Unknown to them all, Roy Disney and some of the directors were also present, in the raised section of the dining area behind some decorative greenery. The SF authors returned to their offices after lunch to find pink slips on their desks.
I just ordered chicken and an egg from Amazon. I'll let you know.

I've heard this story before. For a company that wants people to laugh, they don't have much of a sense of humor.gsabc wrote:Harlan Ellison, the SF writer, tells a hilarious story about being called into Disney Studios during the '60s to work on a unknown project (which became "The Computer Wore Tennis Shoes").
