What is this "second, videotaped interview" everyone's talking about?

It's something that's become part of their standard procedure since last season. Some auditioners, after completing their interview, are asked to stay for a second interview, which is videotaped. (They may be led into a different room for that, so the other auditioners may not really notice who's been selected to stay.)

The APs say that it doesn't necessarily mean anything--getting a second interview doesn't mean that you'll get on the show and not getting a second interview doesn't mean you won't get on the show--but we haven't had a confirmed report so far of the latter being true.

IMHO, not getting the second interview is the kiss of death.

I'm not sure of the protocol to be added to this list, but I'm planning to bother Jaybee in line at the June 13 audition. I would bother Nelly, too, but I don't know that Nelly would appreciate being distracted.

I did not get a second interview on May 18. I interviewed with the man who gave the second interviews. One of my friends, who did not interview with him, did get the second, taped interview.
They did not give second interviews yesterday to anyone passing the movie test. They seemed understaffed and the room was completely full with movie test takers. About 20 passed. They had already tested three times for the regular test, so I think the staff members were exhausted by the time they interviewed us. Only women interviewers were there yesterday.

I have a friend who auditioned earlier this week and passed the test, but saw no indication of any second interviews being done. Friend had auditioned before and was aware of the history of the taped interview, so was watching for it. Friend said auditions were conducted by four young females.
