Napoleon Bonaparte: Romance writer

#1 Post by MarleysGh0st » Mon Dec 10, 2007 12:35 pm

I don't know how we all missed this news story a week ago, since it sounds like one of those tidbits a SyndieBAM question writer would love.

It turns out that Napoleon wrote a love story back in 1795, the first page of which was auctioned for $35,400 last Sunday.

"Clisson and Eugenie," only 22 pages in its original handwritten form, was written when Napoleon was a 26-year-old general. Afterward, Napoleon turned his attention to political matters.
Ah, yes, many a promising author has had his career sidetracked by "political matters".
