AJ's college football tournament

#1 Post by andrewjackson » Mon Dec 03, 2007 10:03 am

2007 1-A playoffs. (I just ignore the Bowl Subdivision name as well as the fact that there is no actual tournament).

December 15 - First Round

Code: Select all

#1 Ohio State (Big 10) v. #16 Central Michigan (MAC)
#2 LSU (SEC) v. #15 Troy (SunBelt)
#3 VaTech (ACC) v. #14 Central Florida (C-USA)
#4 Oklahoma (Big XII) v. #13 BYU (Mt West)
#5 Georgia (At Large) v. #12 Florida (At Large)
#6 Missouri (At Large) v. #11 Arizona St (At Large)
#7 USC (Pac 10) v. #10 Hawaii (WAC)
#8 Kansas (At Large) v. #9 West Virginia (Big East)
Illinois just misses out but every team had a chance to qualify by winning their conference or, if Independent, being ranked in the top 12 of the BCS.

(All other bowl games held between Dec. 17 and December 31)

January 1 - Second Round
4 games at the Rose, Sugar, Orange and Fiesta bowls.

January 12 - Semifinals
TBD

January 26 - National Championship game
No matter where you go, there you are.

I think you ought to bump Florida up or down 1. There should be some protection against a COnference match-up in the First Round.

Can you get some EA Sports Simulations for these games?

My predictions would be all the favorites win except Va Tech falls to Central Florida in the shocker of the tourney, and Hawaii takes out USC.

Then Kansas "upsets" Ohio State.
LSU over Hawaii
Missouri over Central Florida
Oklahoma edges Georgia

Oklahoma Beats Kansas
LSU takes out Missouri.

Oklahoma stomps LSU for the Championship.

Hey, it's just as likely as any scenario anybody else could come up with.

Espn has a simulation for a 16 team bracket, but they don't include the "minor" conference winners in the options.
