I'm really sorry, Miss Kazoo. If you come to my house, you can watch Animal Planet with me. That's where I learned that whale sharks are really, really big -- up to 40 feet long, hence the "whale" in their name. Blue whales can be more than 100 feet long, but you knew that already. It should have been 3-2-1-4.

For whatever reason I thought Symphony was one of those new-ish type candy bars that they advertise-- so my mind put it after Reese's sticks. Turns out Symphony was 1980's, I think 1989, Reese's Stix was 1999, correct order by earliest is 2/3/4/1

Well, I am majorly bummed, as anyone going 0-fer would be, but I just didn't get the right questions for me, and I don't have the knowledge many others here do to handle the 2 tough Questiobn 5's I got.
I did have my bad streaks in the old phone game, and a few good ones, but it's pretty obvious I'm not very good at this part of the game. So it goes. I'll be rooting hard for BB's to get called in the coming days!

Annie is always quite sincere, and Kazoo has, in my experience, demonstrated continued interest in filling the gaps in her knowledge. After all, she may have a Jeopardy! taping in her future so she may need to know these things. --Bob

Well, it didn't then, because I was just playing the thread questions as a test to see if I can get them (though not in 10 seconds)

but it does, for real, now.


For years I've gone around telling myself that if the phone game had stayed alive, eventually I'd have gotten another round 2, & done well this time (in my 1 round 2 I got an easy Q2 wrong by mishearing, then, because they let you keep playing, Q5 wrong putting record album release dates in order; not my best subject, but the one I goofed on was a Rolling Stones "Best of" album the egotists apparently released in '68 or something).

When I did finally get to the ROF by audition, I got stuff in the right order but my answers weren't lighting up. Bad buttons, though many here choose not to believe this. On the show's instructions I played the real life show v-e-r-y s-l-o-w-l-y & got both real life questions right, but v-e-r-y s-l-o-w-y.

So now I get my chance to show I could at least play a real round 2, get 10 of them, & blow it. Not feeling so good.

And I've still got all that stuff to do here.

My tired brain (didn't get out of the Harry Potter movie until after 3 last night, wasn't home until 3:30, and God only knows when I went to bed) desperately needed a words-in-order Q1 to jump start things and get the juices flowing, etc., but instead, I got hit with an eras-in-order question that wouldn't have seemed so bad if I'd already answered a couple of questions correctly:

Q1) Put these historical eras in order, earliest first:

1. Reformation
2. Middle Ages
3. Renaissance
4. Industrial Revolution

I'm not really sure what I answered....my brain just couldn't get started fast enough to really do me any good. I think I had the first and last ones, correct, and swapped the middle two. I always have a tendency to think that the starting time for the Renaissance is much later than it actually is.

This is not a difficult question, but I just wasn't up to it tonight. Or any of the previous nine, I guess.

Congrats to everyone who made it into the pool. Hopefully, some BB phones will start ringing as soon as tomorrow.

Oh, dear! It wasn't meant to be, at all! Back when I broke my legs and couldn't walk, I spent all day every day for months laying on the couch and watching Animal Planet until my mom came home from work. I watched programs about every kind of animals on the land and in the sea, so I love animal questions. (In fact, I first learned to read by paying attention to the commercials.) I thought everybody already knew that.

I consider Miss Kazoo one of my very best friends I've never met, and I would never evereverever be mean to her! I'm not that kind of girl.

Don't know what wheel-and-cog experiment you're referring to, but Olaus Roemer correctly calculated the speed of light to three significant digits in the 1670s, by using careful examination of Io, the moon of Jupiter that Galileo had so carefully observed. Three sig figs is pretty damn good by any standard.
