Out on one of my weak areas - Modern Music

Q1: Name the company
1. Black
2. Corp.
3. Decker
4. And

Q2. Movies by earliest first theatrical release
1. Vertigo
2. Basic Instinct
3. My Big Fat Greek Wedding
4. Dirty Harry

Q3. State capitols from the southernmost to north
1. Denver
2. Juneau
3. Austin
4. Helena

Q4. Albums starting with the most recent
1. Back to Black
2. Spice
3. Like A Virgin
4. Unforgettable, with love

First thought #1 was the AC/DC album. Other than that I had no clue. #4 I figured was Natalie Cole but has no clue as to when it came out. I went with 4231 and was greeted by Sad Fred. I didn't see right away that all the albums were by females.

Q3: First ladies in order of birth, most recent first

Q4: Arrange these words in order of the number referred to in their root, lowest first

1. Tricycle
2. Unicorn
3. Quart
4. Decade
Spoiler
2134
Q5: Put these flours (thought flowers, until ...) in order of their gluten content, lowest to highest.

NFC. Took a stab, got it inside out. Even GW the baker didn't get it right when I told her about it.
Spoiler
2314. I hit 1423.
I will accept getting to Q5, as long as I get past it tomorrow. But boy my heart was pounding when I heard the continuation to Q5.

Fred does speak faster. I can barely read my scrawls. Didn't have time to write entire words. Podiatrist and optometrist came out as "pod" and "opt".
I just ordered chicken and an egg from Amazon. I'll let you know.

Put these in running order for an internal combustion engine (maybe).

Thanks for any help.
I believe this is

To give more detail,
More detail
During the intake phase, the pistons go up, sucking air and fuel into the combustion chamber. During the compression phase, the pistons go down, compressing (and thereby heating) the air and fuel. The spark plugs ignite during the power phase, igniting the mixture and forcing the pistons up. The pistons go down again during the exhaust phase, flushing the used fuel-air mixture from the chamber and leaving the engine ready for the next cycle.

Bob, you've got the cycles right, but the explosions take place above the pistons, in the combustion chambers, which are on the bottom of the cylinder head. I've also taken out the pluralization, as the actions occur serially, not simultaneously.

Correcting your description yields:
During its intake phase, each piston goes down, sucking air and fuel into the combustion chamber above it.
During its compression phase, each piston goes up, compressing (and thereby heating) the air and fuel.
Each spark plug ignites during the power phase of its cylinder, igniting the mixture and forcing the pistons down.
Each piston goes up again during its exhaust phase, flushing the used fuel-air mixture from the chamber and leaving the cylinder ready for the next cycle.

Just got back from google, it is Back to Black - like an old lady like me would listen to the Druggie, ha. So I guess it would be 4, 1, 3, 2 ?

Out on Q4. The first 3 were cake q's. Trust me.

This got me:

Arrange these body organs by weight, lightest to heaviest:

1-Pancreas
2-Thyroid
3-Spleen
4-Liver

It's 2134. Probably everyone here knew that but me. I did 2314.
Crap. Why did I think I could do well on this show again?

What's killing me is that I am seeing Q4's and 5's that I DO know in these other posts, and I fear I'm gonna keep getting the ones I don't.
I am feeling really stupid right about now, as in "out of my league". I just have to remember that this has happened to me every single phone game period and I have made it into the pool. I made it the old way, too, with two rounds. Yup, I can do it!

All the same, I'm gonna go play L.S. where I actually know what I'm doing..I need some "comfort food" so to speak.

Yeah, like I said I go through this angst every single time and it has always turned out ok. And I know it's only been 2 nights..I'll just feel better when I can can sit back and exhale, is all.

whata difference a day makes!!! Fred sounded slower and my brain and fingers suddenly got faster:

Put following words in order to form the title of a 1980 musical:
1. tap
2. dance
3. the
4.kid
Spoiler
3,1,2,4

put the letters in order to form the name of a business school entrance exam:
1. M
2. T
3. A
4. G
Spoiler
4,1,3,2

First ladies in birth order from the most recent:
1. Mary Todd Lincoln
2. Jackie O
3. Elleanor Roosevelt
4. Hillary Clinton
Spoiler
4,2,3,1

put these countries in order going from North to south:
1. Poland
2. Argentina
3. Spain
4. Zaire
Spoiler
1,3,4,2

Plays in order of their debut from the earliest:
1. Proof
2. Driving Miss Daisey
3. Our Town
4. King Lear
Spoiler
4,3,2,1
OK, OK I will admit a rather easy stack, but I'll take it and am now on the clock on July 20 for the 8/5 tape datehttp://www.wwtbambored.com/posting.php?mode=reply&f=1&t=19037#

My questions from tonight:

Q1) Words in order, blah blah blah.
1. Foundation
2. Disease
3. American
4. Lyme
Spoiler
3-4-2-1
No problems here.

Q2) Songs in order of release by original artist, earliest first.
1. Little Red Corvette
2. Behind These Hazel Eyes
3. Blue Suede Shoes
4. Yellow Submarine
Spoiler
3-4-1-2
This really isn't too bad.....YS was late '60's. I know BSS is older than that. I'm a huge Kelly Clarkson fan, so I knew BTHE is 2005. I have absolutely no idea what year LRC was released, but there's a huge gap between YS and BTHE, and so putting it there got me past this question. (I'm not a huge fan of Prince, so I didn't immediately remember that LRC was him...otherwise, this Q would have seemed really easy from the start.)

Q3) Literary works in order (gulp!) of first publication, earliest first.
1. Poisonwood Bible
2. Soul On Ice
3. Black Beauty
4. Brave New World
Spoiler
3-4-2-1
Ugh. I know roughly where Black Beauty and Brave New World should go, but know nothing about the other two. I put them as the most recent, WAGged on the order, and got lucky.

Q4) French cities in geographic order (WTF!) from north to south.
1. Avignon
2. Paris
3. Lyon
4. Marseille
Spoiler
2-3-1-4
Holy crap. I know where Paris is, and remember that Lyon is down to the south. I couldn't remember where Marseille was, and I didn't even recognize Avignon when Fred said it. As it turns out, I didn't miss by much....just had Lyon in the wrong spot. Oh well.

So I play again tomorrow. --Bob

I thought it was a pretty Marley-friendly stack! They didn't try any tricky "starting with the most recent" reversals or anything. The only one I needed to go with a hunch on was putting Caged Bird before Color Purple. :)

And no pop music!!!

Also curious that there were two duplicated orders "2134" and "4312" in the stack of five.
