top o' the mornin'®

And a Merry Christmas to one and all. Here in Rivendell all of the elves are asleep except for me - I woke up around 2AM with a beastly head cold so I moved to the recliner in the family room to elevate my head so I could get some sleep. Unfortunately although it's a great venue for watching TV it's not so conducive to restful sleep.

My darling elwing got a wonderful surprise Christmas gift from her office at their party on Friday. Every year they have a contest to determine who the best person in each of various categories is. She is in the "inside support" category and was chosen as the "support person of the year" by a vote of all in the company. The prize was an all-expenses-paid three day cruise in the Bahamas, which we will be taking in May. It's a measure of how much the company has grown in the past few years - she won it in 2004 but all the winners received was a plaque and a $100 Visa gift card.

In May, I believe. The details weren't completely worked out yet and the office was closed yesterday so she won't be certain until later.

May is a good time to go, it's not hurricane season.
