This thread seems to have petered out a bit....

A curious coincidence: I've gotten two WG hits today, both for bills that I entered on December 10. One has traveled 120 miles, the other has gone 2,250 miles.

I found a bill yesterday and entered it. I was the first hit and it had travelled 2,399 miles in about 195 days from Millville, NJ.

Millville? Manville is close by. So is Milltown. But Millville is a long way from here, by NJ standards. Below the Mason-Dixon Line, even!

So far, I've had two cashiering shifts at the Friends of the Library book sale and I haven't spotted a single Wild George. Too many folks are using their plastic, these days. (On the plus side of that, we upgraded from using a phone line for the credit card machines to an internet connection, so we don't have any more dial-up delays.)

So I get my next bunch of 100 singles from the bank today. I get home and am happy to find that one of them is a wild (Turned out to be from just across the river, but hey, it's still exciting to find one). But when I get to entering the rest, it turns out that two of the other bills were stealth Georges! For those unfamiliar, stealths are bills that have been entered before by someone else, but left unmarked.... so you don't know they're wilds until you enter the bill. I'd found maybe 10 stealths EVER in my 8.5 years of Georging before today, and to find two in the same batch of bills, along with another wild..... very odd!

All three bills.....

I have not been entering any unless they are a wild. But I still get a pretty steady number of hits showing up.

And the stealth Georges didn't even come from the same place! Very odd, indeed!

As for me, AJ is in Kearny today, making Nebraska my 39th state!

Prior to yesterday, the last hit I got that was most recently entered in 2004 came in on July 3, 2010! So naturally, 15 months later I'd get two from '04 in the same day.....

On the heels of Wednesday's stealth madness, this has been a truly weird WG week for me.....
