A game play suggestion

If players post their answers using spoiler tags. then they won't be visible unless someone intentionally looks at them.

Just a thought.

I agree wholeheartedly with this suggestion.

Sounds like a good idea, but I can guarantee that many will forget to tag their answers.
I don't understand why there is any greate problem than ever. Is the game host puts spoiler space in the question post, then the answers wouldn't be seen anyway.

I'm not really disagreeing.

Or I'm not really being disagreeable.

Or we're not really in disagreement.

Or something like that.

I do think it's a good suggestion.

I'm just not sure why it's a bigger problem her than it was before.

Because there's no flat view, post to post. It's easy to go zooming with the speed of light into stuff you may not want to view in threaded view, even with spoiler space.

How come you changed your avatar back?

I'm gonna leave mine as The Purple Row until we win the Series, or don't.

Why doesn't everyone just use quote when they answer - solves all problems.

Sorry to be stoopid

But how do you do the spoiler thingie?

I see how to hide/unhide but how do you put that in your reply?

It is early over here.

When you open the reply window, there are a row of buttons under the subject line, starting with B i and u. The rightmost one is "Spoiler".

Type your text, highlight it with your mouse, then click the Spoiler button.

Okay - can someone tell me why this is better than responding by quoting?

Because this way there is less chance of inadvertently seeing someone else's answer because it is actually hidden

The object is to avoid seeing anyone else's answer, when the Bored only serves entire threads instead of individual messages. There have been three different suggestions to handle this.

1. Contestants responding using the spoiler button.
2. Host adding the old-fashioned spoiler space to the bottom of the thread
.

.
.
.
3. Contestants responding by quoting.

The problem with the #3 is that one might still get an inadvertant glance at someone else's answer, particularly if the original message is short. #1 relies on each contestant remembering to use the spoiler button. #2 only relies on the host remembering to add the spoiler space.

But all three are reasonably workable solutions. if folks are consistent in using them.

Is there some way for me to see answers without scrolling down? I mean, it seems that it would be hard for it to be by accident, unless there is someway to get around this bored that I haven't figured out yet.

On some computers, like mine, using the quote tag and changing the font color doesn't hide answers. I can still see them. I can't see the answers when the spoiler tag is used.

I don't think I have ever seen a second post in a thread without scrolling down.

Doesn't mean I haven't, just seems to me that the avatar and the header of the bored prevents that.

You apparently have a small screen size. Mine is 1920x1200.

I have yet to find a post where I do not have to scroll down to see the second post in a thread.
