They do not have names yet, no. And they are both boys, which throws Fanny's suggestion out the window.... I am up for suggestions. One if scrawny, all black, and feisty as all get-out. The other is black with a white chest and paws. They are 7 weeks old today....
I was not going to do this for at least another few weeks, but someone at work had a cat with kittens and was asking everyone Sunday night. I promised I'd take 2 of them off her hands on Thursday, and.... well, that's what I've been doing the last few hours....

Suitguy is not bitter.
feels he represents the many educated and rational onlookers who believe that the hysterical denouncement of lay scepticism is both unwarranted and counter-productive
The problem, then, is that such calls do not address an opposition audience so much as they signal virtue. They talk past those who need convincing. They ignore actual facts and counterargument. And they are irreparably smug.

I am so happy for you! You needed those kittens, and they needed you. I hope you will have a long, long togetherness of love.

I am sooooooo happy for you and them!! Welcome to the wonderful world of cat ownership!!
As for names, my very favorite cat name ever is Otto. I had an Otto that was actually my familiar. Cat names I'd like to use in the future are Boris, Horace, Oscar, and Fritz. My current kidney stone patient is named Winston and he is black and white.
Whatever you decide, please just don't name them Colonel and Sanders.

The black one with the little white on it must be Kitty's cousin!
Take the male name Fan suggested
and we'll come with another suitable male name in short order.

Re: Meow!
Right now they are both huddled up behind a box in the room I put the litter box in. They haven't moved from there since I brought them into there to show them, so hopefully they will warm up a bit to the place once they get over the shock of being taken from their old home......

Dude, no way!! I feel personally responsible for this..... When you made the casual comment last night that you had something to do today, I was hoping, but I didn't want to say anything and jinx it.littlebeast13 wrote:christie1111 wrote:Did you get 2?

You can still use my suggestions. One still works and then there's the original suggestion that spawned the others and got you all fired up to get them in the first place.
(I would have posted sooner, but Fanny was draped over my arms while I was trying to do bookwork (their favourite place will be on your desk, over your mouse and right in front of your keyboard....). Ha!

Re: Meow!
Awwww. I'm so happy for you. They will provide endless hours of enjoyment, not to mention years of love and snuggles! You should hold a naming contest. Yes. You should. I was at our Farmer's Market saturday and saw a woman with 2 vietnamese pot-bellied pigs (for which I have an affinity, of sorts) both looking goofy, dressed all in pink and being pushed about in a pet stroller. Their names were Ham and Bacon. They set up quite a racket when their owner paused at the Pork Tamale wagon. I intuit your pet choices will be a better fit.

I submit for your consideration that you might name them Django and Jeter after, respectively, my favorite musician and my new baseball fact for last night.

Re: Meow!
My Mom just called and I told her about Fanny's naming suggestions.... well, half of it anyway. She loved Shakira and was hoping the other name wasn't Kanye....
I may wait a few days and see if anything comes to me. Given my tendencies though, I might just call them both Kitty.....

Cats are like potato chips and tattoos, you'll be getting a third one soon enough. Just make sure that it's a tawny golden girl kitty.....littlebeast13 wrote:My Mom just called and I told her about Fanny's naming suggestions.... well, half of it anyway. I absolutely do NOT see myself getting a third cat. I will do good taking care of two of them.....
Plus, ES is already jealous enough....
