It's snowing in Dallas

#1 Post by geoffil » Wed Dec 02, 2009 8:25 am

I think the snow gods are trying to make me feel more at home. No sign of any salt trucks or plows.

I don't think there's a snow plow in all of North Texas. And the municipalities use sand rather than salt.
But the snow is kinda neat, eh?

Enough already. It's my fault! Get over it!

That'll be $10, please.

I am sure Mayor Daley would sell some plows on a 30 year lease basis at a great price just like he sold the bridges and parking meters.

No illustration, I just gave Kiki a lot of grief last year because she said Auburn doesn't have a snowplow... like it never snows in Auburn. I told her she'd get buried one of these times, and sure enough, the big thundersnow hit around the end of March!

No, you got it all wrong. I believe I was trying to think of the word "snow plow" and used some other description,
which I can't recall my exact words at the moment, but you found it hilarious and made fun of me for months!
You mean you've forgotten about that? The snow came the first week in March as it was the week before Natalie's
wedding and she got married on March 7th. It was 74 and sunny that day. Welcome to weather in Auburn, AL.
That's why we don't have those machines that move the snow off the roads.

Well, I remember telling you that ORB needed to buy the city a few "street clearing machines".....

I ghuess he never bothered to do that....

We can let our hard earned tax dollars do that. Apparently the city doesn't think they're necessary.

The weather radar shows it's stopped now.

It's 14° and snowing in Denver.

The sky IS Falling!!!!

- Al Gore, December, 2008

In this case, use of the more technically “correct” term is actually less likely to convey the key implications to a lay audience.

On the bright side, if you see snow more than once more this year, it will have been considered a hard winter. :D

Well, I hope the crews have it cleaned up by the second day of 2010. I don't want any slippery driving conditions as we head over to Jerry's Palace.

I don't think Los Angeles has any snowplows. We don't have any rainplows either.
I believe in the usefulness of useless information.
