Does she know hermillion? Was hermillion on her PAF list? I know Tulsa is a big city (relatively speaking) but it's possible that Brenda knew (or had at least heard of) hermillion.

To my knowledge this is totally a "rural legend" (as opposed to "urban legend").

A fashion faux pas perhaps, but it's one way to be sure.

I, too, would have had to ATA on this question.

That was pretty amusing, and a sign that he really did know the answer.

"Love Story" was written by Segal, "Bridges" by Waller, and I know that "The Notebook" was written by Sparks, so go with that answer.

Very tough question for this dollar level - a definite WWOQ. I was thinking B, but would have gone with the 50/50 to see what remained. If it was B and C it would be time to PAF.

Another pretty tough stack.

Yeah, I've never heard anyone talk about different oyster varieties before. I ruled out D, since they didn't match any of the Big Island volcanoes I've heard of, and they didn't sound like gemstones. My hunch was that "Malpeque" was a Mexican word (although etaoin says it's Canadian!) so that ruled out B for me, leaving C as my choice by elimination.

16K: OK, I can rule out "Madison County" & "Love Story" for having diff authors. Now, I supposed Jessie doesn't watch old movies, so that makes it a 2007 movie, making it "Notebook". which I just saw on TV. But I can't place the Serendipity movie, so would 50/50. No, strike that, I'd babble to the audience about the 2007-ness, & how I'd ruled out the 2 I did, & see if they also favor "Notebook".

25K: Great. Now I'd really like my ATA back. Wouldn't volcanoes be too obvious? And "Japanese soft drinks" too esoteric, even for 25K? 50/50. If it doesn't help, PAF here.
