Is spiced ham on the jail house menu?

#1 Post by themanintheseersuckersuit » Sat Oct 13, 2007 11:58 am

Sweet Justice!

PHOENIX — Two men who sent millions of unsolicited pornographic e-mails have been sentenced to more than five years in federal prison as part of the first prosecution under a federal anti-spam law, U.S. Department of Justice officials said Friday.

Jeffrey A. Kilbride of Venice, Calif., and James R. Schaffer of Paradise Valley, Ariz., purchased e-mail addresses and sent the owners of those addresses links to pornographic Web sites, prosecutors said.

They were convicted in June of charges including conspiracy, money laundering, fraud and transportation of obscene materials after a three-week trial and were sentenced by a federal judge in Phoenix this week.

Defense lawyer Steven Goldsobel declined to comment Friday afternoon.
Suitguy is not bitter.

feels he represents the many educated and rational onlookers who believe that the hysterical denouncement of lay scepticism is both unwarranted and counter-productive

The problem, then, is that such calls do not address an opposition audience so much as they signal virtue. They talk past those who need convincing. They ignore actual facts and counterargument. And they are irreparably smug.

Hmmm, sounds like a lot more was going on besides spamming everyone. Would they have gotten a conviction--or even been dragged to court--without all the rest of that?

They should be allowed to eat nothing but canned Spam for the duration of their sentences.

Seriously.

That isn't much of a punishment. Then again I like spam. Nothing like a spam loco moco from Cafe 100!

Rice, eggs, Spam, and gravy, what could be better than that?!

Loco Moco

#6 Post by christie1111 » Sat Oct 13, 2007 8:53 pm

Wow! Loco Moco on the East Coast?

Isn't there supposed to be gravy?

Okay, I admit that Spam is in my house and occasionally gets serves for breakfast with rice and eggs.

Hey, it is an Hawaiian thing!

No, Saucy is singing the song, while I stand there looking embarrassed and let a golden opportunity slip away.

Just like in Savannah...
