I've recently decided that I need to learn how to knit socks. I've also decided that I need to learn to knit them toe up, I need to learn how to knit two of them at once and I need to learn how to knit them on two different needles at the same time.
And I need to learn how to do it all at once. Ha!
I want to make a first run practice pair before I commit to using my 'good' yarn and to use two different colours in order to keep them straight, so I rummage about to see what's in my old acrylic leftovers that looks to be enough to make an entire sock. I've got some yarn from some NUGGETS!!!!11 projects that I've made, and I've got some more left over from an afghan I made for my niece.
It isn't until I get all the increases done, the toes finished and I'm working on the feet that I gather up everything and I realize............
I'm making LAKERS SOCKS!!!!1

Naaahhh. I'm sure fanny wants to keep them as she roots on the Lakers with nelly. Wait, maybe she was using reverse psychology on the Lakers. Nevermind.
I believe in the usefulness of useless information.

They would have to be a pretty healthy pair, since I can already fit my whole fist inside of these things.....

No reverse psychology. My current rooting list is as follows:
Suns
Celtics
Magic
Lakers
Hawks
War
Pestilence
Death

Well, you could always make a middle bridge and some tie strings and have one heck of a bikini top

I'm almost to the heels now, so it would be a tube top bikini (emphasis on the tube, ha!). Do the Laker Girls have a Senior Citizen Division?

I have no suggestions, but I'm impressed with your nice even stitches. Good work!

I was going to point out that I finished the Lakers socks last night (thanks for the link, Marley!) but LB has already taken down his avatar.
Couldn't you have at least left it up through tonight for good luck?
GO LAKERS!!

They look lovely. Is that Angora Acrylic?

It's acrylic wool, dammit! Spun from the fur of the exotic and fearsome Petroleum.
I actually put them on when I finished them and damn, I took out the trash about 1 am Monday morning and didn't even feel the cold concrete going down the driveway and back. Those petroleums must stay nice and warm there out in the wild......

I'd hate to be the one to shear those Petroleums. They're as slippery as a greased pig....

I think the grease monkeys do all the work.

I'm wondering if BP had branded all those Petroleums floating loose in the Gulf, or if I could wrangle me some and spin some Acrylic....
