The Truckee Meadows has a history of misspelled signs -- including examples of school zones painted with the words "scool" and "shcool" on asphalt roadways.

Looks like whatever is at the end of the ramp is supposed to slow down the truck. Barrels of water maybe? Or they can have the nets on them that stop the trucks, like the one they just built sort of near my house...it's not even an uphill incline at all, the nets supposedly stop the trucks.

The "pavement" that you see on the ramp is actually a deep layer of gravel. The truck will sink axle deep and slow down evenly as it tries to push through the gravel.
