Stayed home today because of the weather and saw this one live for a change. Thought sure he was toast after that ATA. There was some heavy-handed editing here, because it looked like he went immediately to the 50/50. Very nice use of lifelines at this point. Had it been me, though, I would have been thanking my crosswording heritage and gone right to B.

Would have loved this stack. Clean through the original $50K, and never would have seen his STQ, which I would also have crashed and burned without lifelines. Otherwise, looking at $100K with all lifelines intact.
I just ordered chicken and an egg from Amazon. I'll let you know.

$25K: Either Latin or Greek. PAF.

$50K: Nope. Switch it.

$50K #2: Well, considering that 60M voted for Bush and 58M voted for Kerry, that made C the obvious answer.

$50,000 and two lifelines at hand for me.

Thanks to TheConfessor for the information he provided about becoming an "official blogger".

Time to ATA and hope they know more about movies than I do.

OTOH this one I would have known without a lifeline.

Two things to note: When Junichi started talking, he merely said, "Rosetta Stone language", an obvious attempt to give Tom search parameters for a Google search. Second, should a "5-time Jeopardy champion" need to make such a search?

BBTranscriptTeam wrote:$50K What country’s ruling monarch is a five-time member of his country’s Olympic bobsled team?

This was mentioned on our cruise last spring - we stopped in Monaco.

I'm glad I wouldn't have seen this question - my estimate would have been "B" and I might well have gone with that without a lifeline.

BBTranscriptTeam wrote:As he gives his final answer and before Meredith can respond, someone in the audience cheers loudly.

Let's hope that person mistakenly believed Junichi had given the right answer rather than cheering his departure.

I'd be looking at the $100K question with three lifelines remaining.
"Elen sila lumenn omentielvo...A star shines on the hour of our meeting."

50K: No idea. STQ

STQ 50K: Oh hell, one of those census questions. My guess it would be one of the high #s. PAF; if no answer in time, 50/50
