Ok, truely exciting news

#1 Post by fuzzywuzzy » Mon Oct 15, 2007 10:14 am

I have an interview tomorrow afternoon 3:15 pm cst for a position in another dept, but still in the School of Medicine. I am very excited and nervous. I haven't had an interview in over 4 years. But, I have the qualifications, and the experience that they need. Here's the catch, my current job knows. I told them, so that they could make a counter offer.

I work for the state, so therefore, my salary leaves alot to be desired. This has been an issue for quite some time.

The cool thing is...I have currently got a ton o'peeps working on getting me a better salary all the way up to the Dean's office. :D

It really feels great to be actually appreciated for all that I do here! :P

BTW, the new position is funded privately.

I will keep you all informed on how it all turns out!

Please keep me in your thoughts (so I don't put my foot in my mouth tomorrow!)

Ditto from the Massachusetts wilderness. It is nice to be appreciated, isn't it? Especially in the money aspects.

I'm sending you non-marble mouth thoughts so that all the right words come out just like you want them to. Congratulations over all of this fawning. If anything else, it is nice to know that these people do care about your well-being.

It went great...thanks for the good thoughts and ++++ vibes!

I had a great interview. I was a little nervous, but, I feel that I would fit right into their dept. They were very nice, and extremely enthusiastic about my application. By working with them, I would be expanding the managerial part of my job. Which is what I have wanted.

So...whew! I am beat from all the nervous energy! Thank you, thank you, thank you to all the well wishers, good thoughts people, and ++++ vibe senders!

You all ROCK! :D

I will tell more in the am...

Now I wait

#15 Post by fuzzywuzzy » Wed Oct 17, 2007 10:17 am

Good Morning from rainy KC!

Well, this morning I sent out my thank you notes for yesterday's interview.

Ok, my dear friend/former boss who now lives in Florida called me. She wanted to tell me that they are calling my references. And, she wanted me to know that they are serious about hiring me! :D

I will keep you all in the loop!

Sounds great! I love hearing about good interviews. I hope I never have to do another one for a job, just for, well...you know.

Enough already. It's my fault! Get over it!

That'll be $10, please.

Great news on the interview and checking of references. Luck wished, prayers made.

Mrs. Flybrick retired from the USAF last month as a Lt Col. I'm bailing out next summer, starting the job hunt thing now. Want (so to speak) to stay in the DC area due to the great schools our kids are in. But I want to escape as quickly as possible.

Cheers,
Brick

Hey, all our new toys have been the biggest attraction here!

But, if you'd rather, Rexer might let you play with the cardboard box.

If Molly will share... :)

Oh, and congratulations to Lt. Col. Mrs. Flybrick (ret.)

An Offer has been made

#25 Post by fuzzywuzzy » Thu Oct 18, 2007 7:19 am

Good Morning Everybody!

I was made an offer yesterday for the job I interviewed for on Tuesday.

I have requested all their benefit package information prior to making a decision. The job is not a state job. I would be working for a private non-profit medical company.

I have given my current job the information so that they could make a counter offer to me.

I will know more today. Thank you for all the encouragment!
