I wouldn't have wanted to be the first open-heart surgery patient in 1885. Sterile instruments, anesthesia, and electric lights were new-fangled innovations back then.BBTranscriptTeam wrote:$50,000

If inflation had been offered as a choice, that could technically be considered a correct answer.BBTranscriptTeam wrote:$300

$25K: Either Hemingway or London. Better PAF.
$50K: I'm a geography buff, but I've never heard of these islands. Switch it.
$50K #2: It's not X-rays. Those didn't come along until around the turn of the century. I thought it was open-heart surgery, so I would have taken the 50:50, made B final, and been out.

What I'll remember most about Matt is that he almost never looked up at the cameras - he was focused on the screen so all we saw was the top of his balding head (except on rare occasions).BBTranscriptTeam wrote:Transcript 1/16/2008

No idea, so time to break out the lifeilnes. I'd start with ATA and hope for a strong spike for the right answer.BBTranscriptTeam wrote:$16,000

He did several of Curly's visual bits, including snapping his fingers and then hitting one hand with the other, the head slap, the "head wave" and several others. If you watch the Stooges you'll know.BBTranscriptTeam wrote:Meredith tells Matt she was teasing him about being calm. I wondered about this, too, but Matt had the guts to go for it.BBTranscriptTeam wrote:$25,000

Thus far he's doing very well.
I'd have gone with the 50/50 to see what was left, hoping it would not be B and C.BBTranscriptTeam wrote:$50,000

My thought was either X-rays or rabies inoculation, then after pondering for a moment I realized that Roentgen didn't discover X-rays until 1895, so it would have to be D.BBTranscriptTeam wrote:$50,000

It's a shame - Matt really looked like he was going to get close to the $1M.

That won't be a problem with me. They'll keep telling me to look up because the reflected glare is blinding the cameraman.earendel wrote:What I'll remember most about Matt is that he almost never looked up at the cameras - he was focused on the screen so all we saw was the top of his balding head (except on rare occasions).BBTranscriptTeam wrote:Transcript 1/16/2008
