Since we are making confessions

#1 Post by themanintheseersuckersuit » Sat Sep 11, 2010 1:47 pm

I'm still a Gamecock Fan and it feels great to beat Georgia
Suitguy is not bitter.

feels he represents the many educated and rational onlookers who believe that the hysterical denouncement of lay scepticism is both unwarranted and counter-productive

The problem, then, is that such calls do not address an opposition audience so much as they signal virtue. They talk past those who need convincing. They ignore actual facts and counterargument. And they are irreparably smug.

I had two fun-size Baby Ruths for lunch.

I was rooting for Ke$ha to win Best New Artist at the VMAs. Even though it should have been Broken Bells.

Other confession: I actually WATCHED the VMAs...

Well, there's no Toddlers & Tiaras. And they only had half the cast of Jersey Shore onstage!

True confession.

I have been waiting for a press release to show up on the Internet all day. I know what it's going to say, but I can't say what it is going to say, until it's out there.

I was stuck between a rock and a hard place.

It was uncomfortable.

I just paid for something I could get for free with a little effort, so now I have to resign from the Cheap Club...

Right, mini's husband never spends any money when he's flying all over to watch a ball game or to let his son attempt to pet skittish German cats...

And speaking of spending money, how is the Moostang enjoying high school?

I dropped 20 bucks on Early Bird Check-in for our return flight so I don't have to drag Erin to customer service in the middle of the day to get our boarding passes. I usually do it when it's the group and Steve can take the kids somewhere while I take care of administrative duties, but I just bought myself some freedom!

And freedom isn't free, as we are constantly reminded. Plus, time is money. And all that...

It has started to attract attention. And our neighbor just asked if her daughter could ride home with him a few times each month when the other girls in the car pool are staying late and offered to pay (but he fills up on our credit card so it's not like he needs gas money) so it not only has saved us bus fare but could get him chauffering cash!

I would spend my life savings to keep Rain Man happy with his cats, though. He's such a sweetie...

Is there an animal shelter nearby that Rain Man could volunteer at?

They need Cat Petters and Cage Cleaners at the nearby PetSmart, but you have to be 18 or have adult supervision. The private school requires community service, so I asked if Mini-me and Stephen could volunteer there if I came with them, but the lady in charge wasn't there. I'm going to call her when we get back from WDW, and I think I'll make the two who need service hours clean the cages while Rain Man and I do the petting!
