RIP Mama Carlson
Carol Bruce, the woman who played "Big Guy" Carlson's mother on WKRP, has died. She was 87. She took over after Year 1 from another actress who played Mama Carlson but then died before Year 2. Bruce outlived her fictional son by a number of years.

Originally the part of Mama Carlson was played by Sylvia Sydney; some of the scenes in the first few episodes had to be reshot when the show did a "retrospective" at the end of the first season (allegedly Mama Carlson demanded an accounting, allowing for flashbacks from several episodes including the Thanksgiving "As God is my witness, I thought turkeys could fly" show.starfish1113 wrote:Carol Bruce, the woman who played "Big Guy" Carlson's mother on WKRP, has died.
