Would Meredith have asked him to do the dance if he'd banked $25K the hard way?

That's a shame. I could see him trying to work it out in his head but he couldn't pull "Rio de Janiero" out.

Oh, sure! Anything to get more "interaction" in the show! But it's harder to get contestants to that stage where they have to pay up with a performance, don't you know.

Here's a report on Tim's appearance.

http://www.app.com/article/20101126/NEW ... llionaire-
Suffice it to say, retired New York firefighter Timothy Duffy isn't going to Rio De Janeiro with his winnings from his "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire" appearance last week.
Well, he did win enough money for a trip!
Duffy, who survived the fall of the north tower in the Sept. 11, 2001, World Trade Center attacks, said he'd hoped the million-dollar prize would help with the 3,400-square-foot, timber-frame home he's been building, bit-by-bit in the borough, for the past seven years. He also hoped to buy a puppy for his kids, Duffy said.
Did they mention his 9/11 experience on the show?

Timothy is featured in this article about the the James Zadroga 9/11 Health and Compensation Act. He's one of the 9/11 responders who is waiting for compensation.
