You can go to the Orange County Tax Collectors office web site and check to see if your neighbors have paid their property taxes.

There is also a web site you can go to look up friends and see what kind of infractions are on their "permanent" record.

I told my friend about the former site, she told me about the latter. She looked me and my husband up and said that we were boring, because we had no entries, not even speeding tickets. Another one of our friends' husbands had several DUIs. We won't be letting him drive our kids anywhere.
