Hmmm, how many times do the writers on this show have to ask a question about vexillogy? I was screaming "D" at the TV.

I guessed right on the pole vault question. I figured that was the only choice where someone could throw/jump 6 meters or more.
I'm just a game show nerd.

Everybody say "AWWWW."

There was a similar question on PTBAM, was there not?
I just ordered chicken and an egg from Amazon. I'll let you know.

WE®

$1K: This doesn't happen very often, but it happened on this stack. I would've llamaed here. I went with 36% of the audience on superficial.

And that is too bad cuz I would've gotten the rest of them correct.

I see that they're recycling questions again. Vexillologist was a $250,000 question on PTBAM.

He's a WE®. I think what he's done is commendable.

I'm surprised that neither the contestant nor the audience really knew what this meant (although they did have the right answer).

I laughed when the PAF said that he was 50% sure, and laughed even more at Meredith's comment. It shouldn't have been hard to figure out, if one knows that 6 meters is around 16 feet. The only one that "fits the distance" is the pole vault.

Couldn't they have just arranged for Jack to be on the show later rather than interrupt the cruise?

A touching sentiment.

As for me, it was a nihil obstat® stack.

What a great stack for me!

Too bad that makes no difference.

Which is also true if one knows that 6 meters is around 19.5 feet. :P

According to Wikipedia, the world record for the shot put is 23.12 meters and the world record for the hammer is 86.74 meters!

The steeplechase is a timed event, so that choice didn't make any sense for this question.

Which is even more amazing when you think that those guys are throwing a cannonball that weighs about as much as a pro bowlers bowling ball, 16 pounds give or take (less for women and younger age groups). I doubt I could throw it 23 feet, much less 23 meters.

Besides, all that spinning would make me dizzy.

OK, dizzy-er.

Jack's appearance gets mentioned in this column:

http://www.silive.com/entertainment/tvf ... sessi.html
If you blinked, you might have missed it.

Staten Island optometrist Jack Rotondi was in the hot seat yesterday on "Who Wants to be a Millionaire?" for a total of 11 minutes (including commercials).
Ouch! :P
Congratulations to Staten Island's newest thousand-aire.
Ummmm, that's a sixteen thousandaire. :|
