Just goes to show you how well informed the American public is about politics. 28% of the people and one former history teacher didn't know one of the two leading candidates for the Republican presidential nomination.

You would think a teacher would do better on this stack, as it was mostly school-like material with no real pop culture traps.

$16K: I'm out. Even before she took the 50:50, I thought it was the opossum.

In all fairness - do we know when this was filmed? It could have been well before campaigning started.

I thought she might go for it - after the audience responses were shown she said it was the one she thought.

Ordinals are the ones with the "ths" at the end (except for first, second and third).

Back on Oklahoma I knew a girl in high school whose parents had a kinkajou for a pet. When upset it made the most awful sound, almost like a woman screaming.

Nihil obstat® for me.

It was probably taped sometime in September--and certainly by early November--so that was before the campaign had reached the saturation level it has now.

Of course, Melissa started by saying she was pretty sure of this answer before she burned her ATA to confirm that.

Why do contestants use the 50/50 first on questions they have no clue on?

Good thing she avoided being dursted I suppose.

Another fairly straight forward stack that would have gotten me to 25K with all lifelines intact. Unusual as there is usually at least one that I have trouble with at the 8K - 25K level. I suppose this one was supposed to be one of the tough ones.

Don't know a ton about kinkajou's although I was relatively sure the answer was A from the start. Common but rarely seen in Central America I looked for them in Costa Rica but saw only another cousin, the coati's. But a brief pondering confirms it as I know they are not marsupials which knocks out D and since the skunk and badger are from the same family (weasels) it pretty much leaves A as the only option.

Obviously doesn't watch a lot of Animal Planet...

25K takes out the Geo nit wits (which I find only fitting) but was one I knew without the answers.
