2nd sisterkang auditioned, June 24 but did not pass test (but will try again for new NYC audition slots for July 18-21 - even tho selecting two sisters to tape in one season seems highly unlikely)
brotherkang auditioned on the first day, passed and was the first AP interview of the year (I don't think he should have volunteered to go first,) but got a no card in the mail about two weeks later. He's going to try again next year.

Went to the audition today. Saw Chad while I was going in, he was waiting in line to be video interviewed. The person he was traveling with also passed but don't know if on camera interview also.
I passed, but no on camera interview. However I'm holding out hope because the first question the girl asked me was if I tried out before. I honestly told her I was in the pool in 2009 but never called and auditioned in May which I received an on camera interview but sad card (I didn't call it sad card). She made notes on my application I have been interviewed on camera and circled and noted a couple things I said in the interview which she liked. I did come right out though and at the end said pretending it was SOP "No on camera interview this time?" and her response to that was that it's like the TSA and that those are random. Not optimistic but not completely assuming it's a no go because of the notes on my application she put down.

Yep. I can confirm that after being moved to the front of the line for tweeting all week about the road trip, I passed the test, got what I thought was a successful video interview and even taped a couple promos. Optimistic!

I'm still considering driving back to Vegas for the 29th...

Sure! My friend Rich and I have been tweeting about our statuses (@cmumathwhiz and @chadmosher) as we go along this road trip together from Michigan to Chicago, often using @MillionaireTV, the official Millionaire twitter, in our messages. So we get into line at about ten to eight, and about fifteen minutes into our wait one of the PAs (or maybe AP?) comes out and yells "Is there a Chad Mosher in the line?" I didn't hear it, but Rich did and he pushes me over to the edge of the line and gets her attention for me. She asks me to step out of line and then asks for Rich as well. She then told me, Rich and the rest of the line that we had been tweeting about the trip the whole time and because of that, we would be moved to the front of the line.

Rich and I thought that maybe we would just be brought closer or near enough to make sure that we got into the next session, but no. We, along with a few others later and a couple who won a separate WGN contest, were literally the first ones in line for the next session. She told the other people in line that they should start or keep tweeting and that they would be bringing more people who make unique tweets later. I thought that was a fantastic way to award people with an interest in the show and the audition.

After we passed the test, as we’re waiting in line to get our interviews, the promotions people actually came over to interview Rich and I on-camera. We talked about our road trip, our tweeting, our past experiences and how we felt now. After this, I don’t know if it was because we had our forms already filled out or if it was another benefit of being good Twitter users, but I was pulled out to begin my first off-camera interview with the same woman who pulled me out the first time earlier. Come to find out, she actually worked on Million Dollar Password when it was in New York, so she was curious to find out if we might’ve crossed paths previously. (We hadn’t, since I was on season two in L.A.)

After what only seemed like a couple of questions, I got my photo taken and she had me sign a release for a video interview. I was called over to do that with Brent (the name of whom I saw on a WGN feature on the auditions earlier in our hotel room). I don’t know how standard it is, but my video auditions were done with what looked to be a FlipCam on a tripod. I was asked a few questions there, including the standard "what would you do with the money" and "tell me about yourself. I also got asked about going to school for communications and if I was to work on TV what host I would compare myself to (Marc Summers from Double Dare). I felt like that went really well and I figured that was the end of it, but he and another gentleman, the same one who interviewed me waiting to go talk to the APs, had me go over to another curtained area to do a little more recording for use in some promotional material.

I was asked a few more questions, some similar to the previous interviews, and was also asked to say some lines like “Who wants to be a millionaire? I do!” and the like. I was asked to stick around for a bit longer and did, with Rich, as we, along with four of five others, later went out one-by-one on the balcony to do another “Who wants to be a millionaire? I do!” deal with the racetrack as the backdrop.
He stressed that the promos weren’t related to the audition, but I can’t help but think having the opportunity to do those gives a good sign to my impression on the staff. All in all, it was a very fun few hours that made me very optimistic and I anxiously await that small piece of paper to arrive in my mailbox.
