Ranked 5th in the 2010 ES Avatar Countdown
Another Matias avatar uploaded by Sprots that was just begging for a hijacking. However, this time instead of sending in ES, I thought it would be better if Matias was surrounded by chicks, so I inserted Angel and MBRS. The redone picture was good enough for me to request a full sized copy of the original from Sprots so I could send the Matias family a portrait of it for his second birthday that Fall. One other interesting note from this avatar is the title.... Sprots had referred to the original as "Matias Cool Dude", and that is the filename she used when she sent me the picture.... however, my brain scrambled it as Matias McCool, which became this one's title and nothing else seems fitting.

Health Care Reform was the huge topic of debate at the time with the bill being voted on by Congress, so I decided to bring awareness to the plight of squirrels who are being unfairly barred from entering Colorado. Scritch Reform made ES and MBRS something I am not in the least... politically aware and active.

Sprots' husband gave Matias' family a puppy he had found, and Sprots later posted an avatar of the proud father holding the puppy in his arm. I jumped right onto it and drew ES in place of the puppy (Joey), and got it uploaded to the Bored in just 15 minutes. This quick-draw piece was quite well loved by everyone (except Sprots), and ES looks quite cute even if I had to make him much larger than usual due to the fact that I had to completely obscure Joey.

When Beebs uploaded a new avatar of her cat Merv sitting in the branch of a tree, I asked her where ES was and if I had to draw Merv a playmate in there. Since she challenged me, I added a quickie MBRS to it and uploaded it as mine. This avatar drew some interesting comments, as some thought MBRS looked pregnant, and some thought MBRS's position in the picture looked a bit.... odd. But this pic got a major upgrade as I got a full sized picture from Beebs, and set out to draw both MBRS and Angel in the picture, in much better quality. The result was pleasing enough that I printed out a copy and sent it to Beebs.

It was a quiet Friday morning on the Bored, and Marley started a new thread saying so. While kusch chime in to announce his daughter had been called by an AP for The Apprentice about an audition, I was already busy working on this avatar of Sprots and ES sleeping in. I especially love how ES looks on Sprots lap in this one, and it drew some nice comments from the Bored. Interestingly enough, despite how great this avatar was, I had completely forgotten about it within a few months and only recalled it again while looking through my avatar log in Photobucket.

For Denver's first round playoff series with the Utah Jazz, I drew a whole new version of the Rally Squirrels, while continuing the trend of having ES humiliate something symbolizing the opposing team.... in this case, a saxophone that just screams "Utah" when you see it.

I found a program that allowed you to create GIF pictures that were animated, and whipped together this avatar that features seven different pictures of my most popular characters and had them slowly revolve like a spinning sign. I had to pretty much temorarily eliminate the avatar size limit on the Bored to upload this one, and even then it was very slow to load for a lot of people. It received few comments one way or the other (other than Sprots hating it), and was taken down the next day never to return, but it wound up topping Fanny's list she made of her favorite ES avatars from 2010.

#137. "No Shirt, No Problem"

It had been mentioned by someone, perhaps in chat, that while the rest of my characters are always in the buff, Sprots is always clothed, with the Broncos jersey being her most recognizable feature. I noted the signifcance of the jersey, as well as the fact that her character looks so much like Kiki's lioness character in defending this exception for Sprots.... but I wanted to try it once with no shirt, and this avatar was the result. I didn't like it, however, Sprots would soon get a makeover that would make her more recognizable, and she'd lose the jersey for good. In the reference thread listed below, also in Sprots' defense, she is complimenting the ES birthday avatar, as she missed seeing this one altogether.

With the Nuggets dropping 3 in a row to the Jazz and on the brink of elimination in Game 5, I decided (with a little coaxing from Fanny) to revive last year's classic Rally Squirrels format. I took the original avatar and just added the saxophone where the blue hornet used to be. It worked for one game, as the Nuggets won Game 5, but fell two days later in Game 6 to lose the series.

Eyegor had announced his Spring Bored game brainchild Music Madness a few days before this. He had offered up for debate some bands that were on the fence for making the field, and on the day I drew this avatar posted his final list. I offered up an overlooked band, one I'd had percolating in my head for a while now based on my famous Evil's Angels drawing in June 2009. This avatar of the band in action was my go-to avatar for when I didn't have another idea during the run of Music Choice.

This is just the Evil's Angels avatar rotated 90 degrees. Why? Because ghost complained that her computer screen display somehow got rotated 90 degrees, so I flipped my avatar to help her at least see something right side up.

Fanny had mentioned the day before her birthday that while practicing some sock knitting techniques, the two different color yarns she was using had made one gold and one purple sock... the colors of the Los Angeles Lakers. I added them to Fanny's feet for her birthday avatar, making this one of my favorites. Probably the only reason it didn't make the year-end avatar countdown was due to it being paired up with the later Crawlspace Fanny, and the aggressive campaign led by Sprots to get it recognized.

This was the avatar I drew to accompany my latest Bored art project... a 12-day series dedicated to the signs of the zodiac, with one new picture to be revealed each day. Unfortunately, my internet connection being toast the day I was to start the project delayed me a day, and forced me to post the first two pictures the same day. At 11 days, this avatar has the distinction of being the longest running continuous avatar I have had on my account since "The Snowmobile" was up for 16 days in March/April of 2009, which was before my avatar rotation truly began.

Kiki was telling us about the new fence installed at Stately Harris Manor to keep people out of the pool. It was built so well, that even Kiki couldn't open the gate to get inside. Uly had commented that the squirrels could still get under the gate, so I drew this avatar to prove that wasn't actually the case. It appears TAH does not like to have mangy rodents in his swimming pool.

Fanny was seeking advice from some of the Bored's resident quilters, so I drew this avatar of Angel having some issues working with yarn and noted that this question must not have been for her. It was in this thread that Fanny coined the phrase that Angel was not quite clear on the concept, which had become one of her more endearing qualities other than just appearing cute. Christie liked this avatar enough to print out, however I redrew it full size and sent her a copy of it.

Mini posted the YouTube video of "Squirrels in My Pants" from the Phineas and Ferb cartoon, and that gave me the idea to do this avatar of one of Sprots' worst nightmares. This is an avatar that soon would have been hard to do since it was the last one ever in which Sprots appeared clothed.

Sprots had begun a new tactic to try to eliminate ES, by threatening to blow him up with nuclear weaponry. This avatar of ES looking cool in front of a mushroom cloud was my tribute to that new schtik. This avatar would later become my icon on both my blog and on my ES store on CafePress.
