D.L. calls Phil a "millionaire bad boy" and says he's living up to his name. Phil was also a former Boy Scout, always prepared. He carries a pad with winning lotto numbers on it, in case he travels back in time. Just in case. If he went back two weeks he'd feel pretty dumb not having the numbers with him. D.L. says his parents are probably anxious to have him move out. D.L. also jokes that if he won the lottery he'd keep working - but he'd come in two hours late, take a four-hour lunch and leave four hours early. They'd fire him and he'd get two checks - the lottery and unemployment.

B - stars and planets
C - ocean tides
D - rain and thunder
Spoiler

Question #8 (The Summer Games - Level 9)
Which of these sports made its Olympic debut at the 2008 Beijing games?

A - Peter Pan
B - Mary Poppins

Phil has no idea. He says that
Spoiler
Mary Poppins is out because she worked there and didn't make frequent visits. The same is true for Curious George - he lived with the man in the yellow hat. That brings it down to Peter Pan or The Cat in the Hat. He thinks that if it were The Cat in the Hat the address would be Two Kabloozle Floozle Street - D.L. jokes that that's right around the corner from where he lives now.
. D.L. says the question could be worth $25,000 and that would surely get Phil out of his parents' house. Phil says that $18,750 would get him well on his way. D.L. jokes that his parents might double that amount. Phil says it's either
Spoiler
Peter Pan
or walk away. He decides to walk away.
Spoiler
Answer: B (Mary Poppins)
Value: unrevealed
Bank: $18,750 (half the bank)

I think this is a recycled question. IIRC, the old Q was something like, Which book opens, "It was a quiet day at 17 Cherry Tree Lane."
-- In Iroquois society, leaders are encouraged to remember seven generations in the past and consider seven generations in the future when making decisions that affect the people.
-- America would be a better place if leaders would do more long-term thinking. -- Wilma Mankiller

I believe this was discussed here.

I had to try and visualize this - I could see the right arm and the fist balled and set on the forehead, but couldn't figure out whether it was on the left or right knee. Having it on the left knee would require that the torso be somewhat contorted. I finally recalled the statue from the second "Night at the Museum" movie ("Boom! Boom! Firepower!").

Despite my fossilized movie tastes I actually knew this one because one of my children was a fan of Kris Kross.

Oops! When I saw this I was afraid that they were going to come back with a different contestant and end to the show.

Yes, he is, but time is short and I doubt that he'll carry over (in fact we know he won't because these shows were taped earlier in the season and held out until now).

He's either going to miss it or walk away. Good thing he did the latter.

elwing and I had a problem with the phrasing of this question. Mary Poppins didn't make "frequent visits" to the Banks house. She lived there for the duration of her employment - or at least she did in the movie version. I can understand why Phil discounted that answer and thought it was either Peter Pan or The Cat in the Hat, both of whom only visitied the houses mentioned in their respective books.

EDIT: Checking Wikipedia I learned that in the series of books featuring Mary Poppins she does arrive and depart from 17 Cherry Tree Lane at the beginning and end of each of the first three books.
