Too true, Marley!

I was actually about 12 feet farther away from the shore while I was reading, leaning against a beautiful spruce tree, and I got through maybe a third of it before the clouds rolled in and we hightailed it out. SteerlersFanNephew was about 12 feet closer to shore trying to catch a rainbow trout, throwing sticks in the water for Casey, wandering around the shore, and all the other stuff that 14 year olds do. Casey was scrounging in the underbrush or chasing sticks. Annie wasn't born yet. Give me a minute, and I'll see if I can post a couple muttly photos.

This isn't on a hike, this is chasing sticks in the river. OK, Casey chases the sticks, Annie chases Casey.

Your doggies have most excellent camouflage for those rocks!

Of course, they're admiring the scenery!

And if there happens to be a stray sheep or something in need of herding, Casey could spot it from miles away! :)

LOL! Oh, how little you know!

I threatened their lives to get them to sit still long enough to take a couple photos. They don't understand the concept of having their lives threatened, but there was no mistaking my tone . . .

I was thinking, "Good grief, I hope there's nobody nearby on the trail right now..."

I think I've told this story before, but Casey scared up a napping bear in need of herding a few years ago. Fortunately, she heard me and took me seriously when I screamed at her to come back. She's my working girl -- she takes all her responsibilities seriously, but there wasn't much today, nothing to herd, not even a chipmunk. She got us safely to the lake, then safely back to the car. And she got all those sticks out of the lake. :D
