From the comfort of my recliner I picked the right answer just from knowing what little I know of the movies made from those novels. In the Hot Seat, however, I'd have wanted something more tangible on which to hang my answer, so I'd have tried the 50/50 to see what remained. (I'm guessing it would be B and D.)

I did know Trainspotting, having seen the movie.

On the other hand, I had never heard that meaning for Serengeti. I'm also suprised that the audience knew it so convincingly. I suppose that I would have ATA'd there, but maybe I would've 50-50'd hoping that I could make an educated guess amongst the remaining two choices.

Nina's appearance earned her a very brief blurb in a local newspaper column, just before the congratulations for Miss Naples Teen USA making the top five in the Miss Florida Teen USA pageant, but well below the notice of somebody earning his Eagle Scout award.
